Well, hello...lol, if you dont like using soft pastels (which are actually pieces of chalk with some oil in their mixture), try using oil pastel (oily crayons) instead. Their finish is different, less "cloudy" and more defined. I prefer them over the soft ones

I blend with my hand only for soft pastels. I use blending stumps when I needed to blend narrow area or edges. Thank you 😊

Paper decides how many layers you can draw. Normal sketching paper barely holds single layer. Canson mi teinte and Ingris papers are best pastel papers available in India.

Now i understand why they putted a padding sponge on top of the set of soft pastels i bought
ITS BC SO IT WONT BREAK WHEN U DROP IT THE OTHER DAY I DROPPED THE WHOLE SET OF SOFT PASTELS AND IT ALL BROKE EXCEPT THE ONES WHICH WERE ON THE SIDE T-T
