@@debidriscoll8108 , I agree and I don’t think she should have been allowed to say anything about Quintons remains being released! I think that LE/Detectives and those who found him in the landfill should be allowed to give Quinton a proper burial. They cared more for him than she did. @@crazybeautiful4270his remains haven't been cremated. They didn't allow her to get Quintons remains. She gave permission for LE to release his remains. Who they go to, is not up to anyone in authority in this courtroom.
They only held his remains due to any testing that might need to be done. They could have continued to hold them if she wanted, for her appeals process and new testing that might become available in the future.
Imo, she knows no testing will change her outcome cause she's guilty. If any new testing could become available, it might show her guilt even further. She sure doesn't want that!

Lelani had a say on whether Quintin's remains were released for burial because they have been held for forensics during trial. She can have still held them (or argued to have them held) for her appeal. Instead, she released them. She was not asked who to relase the remains to---she just blurted out that she wanted to release them to her brother. Courts responded that 'who they are released to' will be determined by another party. They may allow the brother, if noone objects; but, ultimately, she has zero control over that decision.

Tim Dean was a rockstar advocating for precious baby Quentin.
He was on point with every single thing he said to the judge before sentencing.
The judge was so disappointing, she barely acknowledged either attorney or victim impact statements. She did not speak to Leilani and give reasons for her sentencing decisions
To me, she did the bare minimum .
Leilani Simon hated that child and after murdering him, discarded him like a piece of trash.
Why did she get the possibility parole when all she did was blame other innocent people, cause the taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. As the prosecutor pointed out, she showed no remorse not a single tear for that little baby only tears for herself.
She showed him no mercy and it sends the wrong message to society that you can do something so heinous take zero responsibility and still get out in parole.
This judge really sickens me, but of course Leilani is just evil. Look at her eyes look at her face when people are talking she is one cold woman.
She also could’ve been charged with abusing poor Quentin, but I think everyone thought murdering him and discarded his remains would make sure she never spent another day in the free world. There is nothing more this incredible prosecutor could’ve done.

I agree, I was also disappointed in the judge and how she handled the trial but maybe she gave the possibility of parole in an attempt to block the chances of a new trial? I don't know.

Not that crazy aunt trying to justify everything by blaming drugs, prosecution, and literally anything else besides Leilani herself. What a bunch of nonsense.

Can anyone explain why this judge has allowed parole?? Shame on her for not talking about her reasoning for the sentence too. She completely ignored the opportunity to speak about Quinton!

She has 40 years. And she can be denied parole which with her history of shady stuff behind bars she will be in prison her whole life

as heart breaking this case is wow her family loves her and that is what unconditional love looks like. people who hate them for the love they have is sad. it's hard enough for them 2 loses doesn't make any of it right.
