I imagine all of the normal soldiers without the crazy techniques witnessing this and saying to themselves: "Why am I even here? I could have stayed home if this is the shit that they are going to be doing...."
I love Masamune. He's the real protagonist of BSR series. Though he lost for several, he stands up and become stronger and stronger. What I like on him is he NEVER GIVE UP. Mitsunari may be more speed, but he lives by his vengeful spirit, not likes Masamune who always lives to fight with all his effort. He's cool! Hitto!! Whatever, I love him so much >
@@Catro1000 The two anime kinda overpushed Masamune and took shit that other characters did and gave it to him. The biggest one being the defeat of Hideyoshi by Ieyasu.

As far as samurai animes goes, Sengoku Basara easily stands among the good ones. It works as a good piece of entertainment but lacks enough substance in the story department.
@@jakartaajalah the opposite of Samurai Warrior with Lackluster Battle and More Strategic than OP One Man Army of Basara also Story, Drama and Character Development much better receive rather than Basara
I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one you know who liked that ending. So many people were excited by it. You see, people don't watch Basara for a sensible fight. They watch it to enjoy over-blasted bullshit and fun. What you're expecting isn't really the forte of Basara. As for Masamune's reaction, his eyes simply widened. No real fear was presented. He let it happen, but of course there would be a slight doubt.
That's actually what made the fight so grand. Masamune pulled his resolve out of his ass and stood up against the man who couldn't be faced. The fact that it was so sudden made it sweeter in my opinion. It's a nice change in pace from the generic back-and-forth battle sequences. You're literally the only person I've come across to think otherwise.
If you're taking it that way, we can also say that Mitsunari is overpowered because he get hit by six swords at the same time several times and haven't got any scratch left, being just pushed away. In the season two, Masamune got hit several times by Hideyoshi (who by the way, can clear an ocean with is mere fists) and managed to win as well. Come on, it's Sengoku Basara. Don't try to say someone is stronger than someone else when it's not even possible to explain how they are surviving.
Trust me, I'm just a big a fan of Masamune as several other characters. This is actually one of the few series where I enjoy almost every character they've made. Season 1 was great and Season 2 was also pretty good, but it also made a lot of characters look really weak when it shouldn't have been the case. You can't tell me that you wouldn't have enjoyed the battle more if it was actually a little more evenly matched rather than Hideyoshi owning then losing in two moves.
If you wanna go that far, Mitsunari only defeated Masamune through the surprise of the projectile attack. Masamune was winning that fight up until then. Besides, that's a past fight. The most important way of gauging martial prowess is their most recent bout. As for Kojuuro, he didn't kill a man who punched the sea dry. He even had trouble with Hanbei. He's nowhere near Masamune's level.
By multiple mediums I mean outside the anime. A couple of the SB games in particular hint towards it. At worst, they're generally considered to be roughly equals. And Kojuuro's sword was the only one that didn't break after he got his "second wind". As for the whole Date/Ishida thing, there's no reason he wouldn't have dodged the blitz if he was able to. He didn't move because Mitsunari was too fast. Also consider that Ishida got back up + final hit after Nobunaga's slaughter of the posterboys.
You're actually the first person I've come across that liked that ending. Everyone else thought it was BS and nonsensical. All it did was making Hideyoshi look weak, and by extension every one else. Masamune's reaction to the attack shows he wasn't prepared for it. If he was he would have moved or done something. It was Masamune who knocked Nobunaga down first, along with Ieyasu, Yukimura, Mitsunari, and Keiji's combined attacks. Masamune didn't do anything alone.
No, I mean the anime at which the events are more enthralling and the characters are more bat-shit, awesomely overpowered than ever. Regardless of how it was written, the point was to show Masamune's indefatigable resolve rise against an immovable obstacle....And Masamune fucking moved it! He trumped the man who punched the sea dry! I don't give a damn about the writing; in fact, I doubt that's even the focus of Basara. I just enjoy it for being as badass and hotblooded as it naturally is.
Im just rewatching this for the millionth time just hearing the voice work of ishida and im like i kinda feel bad for his va cuz i can only think hes gonna have no voice after recording for him... Lol
You're joking, right? There's no 'rules' in war. He outsmarted Mitsunari, who only keeps swinging at the neck. That's his obvious weakness. In the end, Mitsunari lost due to his own weakness. That's all that matters. This was their 'real' fight, and Mitsunari lost.
I'm a pretty big Masamune fan myself, but you're one of the few people I've seen that actually debate this. Most of your arguments revolve around downplaying the strength/abilities of other characters to make him look better.
Not denying that. Just didn't want any idiots thinking the anime is a predecessor to TTGL. Either way, Getter Robo came out WAY before either of them. TTGL was based off of Getter Robo and classic super Robot anime in general, not off of Sengoku Basara. And correct me if I'm wrong, but Jumping Jack Breaker is only an attack featured in this movie. If that's true, then Balmung's point does not stand.
They were all significantly weaker back in season one. Masamune in season one might have been merely rivaling Kojuuro's ability, but in season two, it's made clear that he far exceeds that.
Think smart not hard, the same applies with effort and a fight. You may be stronger, but it doesn't matter if I outsmart you and beat you anyways. Strength isn't everything.
And don't forget another fact about masamune words in beginning. Shortly what he was trying to say that he run away because if he didn't do this his life will be taken bi mitsunari. remember how much he was owned when he returned to his land? armor broken totally and body slashed. Isn't this still not enough for you ?
ive never played the games(i know shame on me) and only watched this. and all i can say is mitsunari-speed advantage.masamune-destruction advantarge. with techniques being somewhat even. and i can only say reason masamune lost the first time was severly underestimating mitsunairrs blitz. masamune is just going average at the start while mitsunari is full on BLOODLUSTED at the get go. however when they face each other now equal footing. we see the true strongest >.>
@1LERS1 You can say that, but Mitsunari was one of the main characters in the game, that's the only reason he won there. Let's face it, Masamune fucked him up. That's exactly as it should be. I prefer this over the game's canon anyway. Also, if you play as Masamune, you kill Mitsunari. The battle depends on the canon.
The point is that the writers were inconsistent. The battle with Hideyoshi and Masamune could have been a pretty awesome fight if handled correctly. A good back and forth with Masamune digging deep down and winning with Kojuuro's power would have been fine with me. Having him get utterly destroyed and then proceed to win in literally two moves was boring a killed the mood. This isn't just me, it's a problem that a majority of fans of the anime had. To a lesser extent, Yuki vs. Mori also did it.

Sengoku Basara has the greatest collection of high quality Voice Actors i've personally seen.
Almost every voice actor is from Bleach
Thats zoro btw
Yep. Idk why people love samurai warriors more
You better watch hajime no ippo. The voice actor is crazy as well...
Both English and Japanese cast.
The animation style of this anime... Perfection... 😭

If Date Masamune is in a "Capcom Vs" game, the Jumping Jack Breaker should be his level 3 super.
