The electoral college system encourages politicians to consider the differing regional needs rather than lose sight by just focusing on an overall popularity. Clearly Mrs Clinton failed to do that and it is quite right that any president would suffer a relatively high price for preferring areas, particularly class divided areas. Just look at the map for Trump at the moment, yes he may end up losing overall but in terms of geographical representation he holds 65%+ of the country. That should ring alarm bells for liberals who are clearly not connecting with central and southern America. If you have a high paying job in a coastal state you can afford to worry about gender identity and cancel culture, you want for little.
