I once did an Eclipse Eight run with Bandit and stacked despardo for Mithrix and died to fall damage before even reaching the boss arena.

can you imagine playing Dota the Secondth instead of Risk of Rain 2, which is a roguelike third-person shooter developed by Hopoo Games and published by Gearbox Publishing. A sequel to 2013's Risk of Rain, it was released in early access for Microsoft Windows, and Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019 before fully releasing in August 2020 with a release for Stadia coming a month later.

If I were to do this challenge, I would probably use Artifact of Command (since you have to actually select an item in order to pick it up it means you won't pick one up on accident, this is mostly to avoid the teleporter item drop) and probably Sacrifice (since buying chests and chance shrines is useless) but this is optional.
Except he could have (and should have) been buying drones
Just use the one that makes enemy's attack each other, ez win

@@rndThursday Im not a content creator, I dont even have the software to do videos. however I can say i did get a loop once before with no items, but that was with loader before survivors of the void, so im not sure how that would stand up post dlc

You can beat Risk of Rain 2 without items, if you use mods. Why not just give yourself 300 desperado stacks at the beginning of each level? Why not 3000? Yeah, no.

id imagine playing lodr or railgunner and just beelining for tp every stage wouldve been a lot easier and doable in vanilla

Real answer:
Go loader and use the following artifacts: Chaos, Frailty, Kin and Swarms. The artifact of Kin ensures that every boss fight is a swarm of many. The artifact of Chaos means that there will be friendly fire and lots of infighting among the monsters. The artifact of Frailty is a straight benefit on Loader, and the artifact of Swarms means that Mithrixes will infight.
Every stage, rush the teleporter and abuse the artifact of Chaos to make the enemies infight and kill each other.
Upon reaching the final stage, skip the pillars and cause the 2 Mithrixes to infight. Then finish off the weakened survivor. Here you can use the artifact of Frailty to possibly kill using fall damage. Phase 2, just infight the chimeras and avoid the AoE left by the balls. Phase 3, same as Phase 1: infight. Phase 4 should be no issue, since Mithrix(es) will have no items. All thats left to do now is to not die at the dropship. Remember: artifact of Chaos is your friend
Just play loader and be fast tbh

wouldn't the ideal pick for this challenge be acrid since his poison deals 1% damage every second? at that point you just have to get really good at dodging

Honestly I feel like Acrid and Loader are petty good for this run, as Acrid has consistent damage and mobility, whereas Loader has a crap ton of base damage and can end stages really fast
They both have no item runs on YT. AFAIK the only two characters who can do it [without mods ofc]

i think acrid would've been better for this, his poison scales so all bosses can be killed easily, his mobility skill is better and he has aoe
There is a big difference between farming stacks on Mithrix level vs having the stacks persist each level throughout your run. Primarily, mithrix gets harder the longer your run goes. Without the disadvantage of having to sit around on boss level while farming stacks and prolonging the run, you’ve made the challenge significantly easier for yourself.
Your ‘timersaver’ mod fundamentally changed the difficulty of the challenge.
The answer to the question ‘can you beat RoR2 without items?’ Is: yes, if you use cheats.
Pretty much this, by keeping your stacks from stage 1 you literally makes the whole game easier, from stage 1 to Mithrix
Scaling difficulty doesnt play well with itemless normally for obvious reasons, and scaling down on that factor by keeping Desparado when itemless runs on vanilla bandit can and will take far longer than 37 minutes to reach Mithrix, yeah, kinda important

I actualy did it with sniper it was hard and painfull but it works just pray to not have any magma worms boss or demon lords boss
ive been trying it with some of the survivors. very rng on bosses and void seeds. a couple runs i had the void seed spawned on the tp :(
@@rndThursday the inting void seed, quick tips (u surely don't need it but) the run I won was by getting boss to critical point (map1 3 hs, map2 6 hs ...)and then executing him with base ultimate, it works nicely (still praying)
