Ive played the bass clarinet for four years now and I do a lot of these breathing exercises, if not similar ones, so I tend to be able to go a bit longer, and now that I’m in vocals I really benefit from them more!

Very good ☺️ I loved it!!!!
Hi Yuko, really finding daily practice is improving things. Are you doing any more singing exercises?
Thanks for the lovely message, Cyan. Glad it's been helpful. I'm in the process of uploading another video shortly :)
So this was actually really great im gonna watch more but who else thought the ng sounded really cool
i need to learn how to whisper sing so i can sing to someone important if i ever get one 🤪🤪
You're video was amazing! I love all these exercises but I do have a question. When we are actively singing a song, do we breathe from the mouth or the nose?
Hello Kim! Thanks for the sweet comment! Breathing through your is more to train the deep breathing so it would probably be quicker to breath through your mouth when actually singing. But when I hold the note or sing in high range I’d definitely breath through my mouth. Hope it helps :)
Great video!!! You're so amazing... Do you give online lessons????
Thanks you Olafik! I do offer online lessons. If you are interested, get in touch via my website - www.yuko-yokoi.com :)
Now I can practice In the house. Well apart from the sirens
Very helpful and i would beleive anything you say you are so nice and sweet.
Thanks so much😍 i live in an apartment and i know the struggle🤣
thank you so much! what were the notes you played in the last drill? i couldn’t really see them
Hello Carrmen! It would be an arpeggio outlining A, C#, E and A both ascending and descending. Hope it helps! :)
My goodness.Your siren sounds so much like an actual siren.
please,come back🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🇧🇷
Hi Yuko, what do you think of lip trill sirens?
Haha, when you do lip trill, you are kind of doing sirens too so good point! :)
Thank u for this amazing video ✨ but I have a question.. can I do these exercises in the same manner like first diaphragmatic breathing then sirens?.. please reply
Thanks for the message! :) You can either follow the 3 exercises in the order or just pick one or two depending on the time you may have. Consistency is the key I'd say! Happy singing x
@@yuchinbossajazz thank u so much😊
How to make my Chest, mix and head (falsetto) Voice soft and beautiful ?
Hello Sumire! I'll uploading another video shortly for mixed voice :)
@@yuchinbossajazz okay thank you.
Quick questions. Am I supposed to keep my stomach muscles tight as I breathe out? I'm new to knowing what my diaphragm is supposed to feel like when it's being used. Also, when I breathe into my stomach as you say, am I supposed to prevent my chest from rising up with air? My stomach does inflate first, but when it's full, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to count that as a full breath, or let my lungs fill up next.
Hello! Thanks for the comment and trying out the exercises!
If you imagine that your body is like a balloon, when you let the air go, the balloon will shrink. The stomach would neutrally get tighter (flatter) as you exhale and have less and less air store up in your stomach.
In these exercises, we are focusing on the diaphragmatic breathing and if we could try focusing on breathing into the stomach only it would be ideal. Alternatively, you can lie down on your back and put some books on your stomach and just trying to move them as you inhale and exhale. That way you might be able to get the sense of diaphragmatic reaching. A little more? Hope it helps! :)
My neighbours will thing I've sprung a leak but at least I'm not disturbing them
Does this help with being able to sing with a more soulful/powerful/full voice?
Hello! Yes, it should help as to sing powerfully, you’d need to train your diaphragmatic breathing which would be the core of your power. These exercises would act as the same as going to the gym. You’d need them to strengthen your core and prepare yourself to do what you’d like to achieve. Hope it helps! :)
Dear Ma'am ;
i did 1 nd 2 pretty well to 40 sec but totally failed to do 3 one
please help me out
thank U
Hello Takakituka! Could I check you are referring to the exercise No.3 for lip trills? If so, are you finding it hard to do the lip trill itself or make it last? Thanks :)
@@yuchinbossajazz yes maam i am finding hard to do lip trills excersice 3 .....maam totally failing...
@@takakitukamano2210 Sorry for the delayed reply. If you could do the Muted Trumpet featured on my another video here (ruclips.net/video/ckhCQm1AMDY/видео.html ) you'd get a very similar result so maybe you could try it instead? Hope it helps :)
Hi so when we sing do we breathe through our mouth
Hello! When you sing songs, it would probably be quicker to breathe through your mouth ( especially on up tempo tunes) but if you are to sing long notes / phrases or hit high notes, inhaling through your nose would often give you better support. Hope it helps :)
tnku maam......wanna to sing song but cant😒
Of course you can! ( Believing that you can is also very important I think! ) Hope the warm ups help :)
How many times a day can I do this?
Hello Lily! If possible I’d recommend doing this exercises once a day everyday. You can do more if you wish but doing it everyday ( or even few times a week) would really make the difference! Happy singing! :)
whats the use of lip trills
Hi! It’s a very good training for breath control as well as expanding your vocal range. Hope it helps :)
@@yuchinbossajazz madam tnx much for speedy reply
@@yuchinbossajazz whats the simple best practice to reach high notes madam?
@@bebltsmiranda2127 The lip trills can certainly help you reach high notes but I will cover this area on another video in the future :)
Jesus saves
The besta Channel
So beautiful u look mam
I could only make it to 20 seconds-
The more you try the longer it gets Todoroki! I'm rooting for you :)
@@yuchinbossajazz tyy :3
cant reach even 20 seconds
Lasting for 20 secs is already good tho! The more you try, the longer it gets so I'm sure you'll get there in no time :)
@@yuchinbossajazz ty..1) May i ask again
1) Wat are vocal practice for?
2) Why i got strains even with low tone
3) Should we inhale or exhale using diaphragm to reach high note?
@@bebltsmiranda2127 Diaphragmatic breathing exercise helps you strengthen your breathing technique. You are not meant to add voice to the "s" sound as it should be voiceless ( no pitch). Try practice inhaling through your nose into your stomach and exhale from mouth regardless the range of the pitch. Hope it helps :)
Warm ups start 6:25
ありがとう、愛してるよ
Thank you so much!
