I'm not even a surfer, but I watched all four episodes straihgght through because it was so inspiring. The real story was not the surfing - it was the girls. They were all so genuine, loving, loyal, family-oriented, well-balanced and honorable. They know what really matters in life. I would watch it again.

These girls are really strong willed strong bodied and amazing women who uplift each other and cheer each other on, they have beauty inside their souls and the fact that they’re all native Hawaiians just put a lot of spiritual and cultural meaning behind their passion for surfing. It was a wholesome educational documentary

Pua's dad is such a problem. Imagine throwing a tantrum and giving your daughter the silent treatment because she didn't do well in a competition even though she trained hard and tried her best. He has some seriously small peepee energy.

Seriously!! I came on RUclips to see if anyone else notice how emotional abusive Pua’s father was. The things he did to her made me as a viewer feel like I was kicked in the stomach!
Every scene he was in was just like abuse! It’s so extremely sad to see that he has literally caused her childhood trauma. The silent treatment is child emotional neglect.
He has trained her to be this submissive people pleaser just so her trade off is to just doing what she loves. I can go so far into this but her anxiety and eagerness to be approved by her father is so toxic. I truly have my whole heart out for that girl. She might not even know till she is 40 yrs old that her anxiety stems from the abuse her father place on her as a child ! In front of other people so I can imagine what he says to her behind close doors.
Chills me that men can do this to their own daughter. He needs therapy. Save Pua ❤️

Also, the scenes trigger me bc my husband told me how his father would beat him if he lose a basketball game when he was a kid. And we got to this bc of this scene. My husband said he even forgot about it happening until this show triggered the memory. Not saying Pau’s father would beat her. But the behaviors the father showed reminded my husband of memories of abuse he tried to forget from similar situations. My husband said before the basketball game was over if they lost he knew he had to hide or sit behind the drivers seat so his dad couldn’t hit him as hard. Like are men serious! They think it’s okay to do this! This is not okay! 😢

In a time when young women look up to Kardashians. Where women are envied for their bad behavior and superficial looks. Make up cosmetic surgery, and pure vapid uselessness. These are real women worthy of spotlight and recognition. That are championing like-minded women with real attainable goals. They are role models for their people and culture. Inspirational natural beautiful young women. Not obsessed with monetary frills, fake eyelashes and layers of make up. It is refreshing to see women not acting immature and taking pride in destroying other women socially. These women should be role models for all young girls. Definitely deserve more airtime than every other terrible tv show. That depicts women only in drama with one another. Young women that value marriage, family, traditional values. Truly Amazing way to go Prime.

These young ladies put their stories out there. I respect that. They give it their all.
Just don't play a drinking game with word LIKE while watching.
    WISH THEY ALL COULD WIN.
Sponsorship needs to put something aside for their futures though. You can tell that even without surfing each one has great potential. Sponsors need to find and harness that in these young people in case their goals in surfing do not work out.
Maybe a fund in a pot from all Sponsors that is mandatory

This one looks GOOD ! Raw and real... This isn't "Moana," a Disney animated film series (2016 or it's sequel in 2024), "North Shore" - a 2004 showrunner tv series by Peter Elkoff (with Brooke Burns, Shannen Doherty (RIP), Jason Momoa (DC Comics' Aquaman or WWE pro wrestler Roman Reign's "twin"); or James Remar (Ajax from "The Warriors"); not to be confused with "North Shore (2023)" Aussie (mystery crime thriller) tv series made by Mike Bullen; more like "Blue Crush (2002)" or it's sequel in 2011; "North Shore (1987)" starring Matt Adler and Nia Peeples. "Beyond Paradise" - this was an 1998 indy drama directed by David L. Cunningham, about life on the Big Island (of Hawai'i), featuring Roy Netwon as "Mark Thompson."

My favorite mini series!!! All the girls are great but Ewe is going to be one of if not the best surfer in the world...
I really wish I could talk to Puas father..HE IS CREATING ALL THE PRESSURE ON HIS DAUGHTER AND IS NOT DOING IT ON PURPOSE. HE NEEDS TO TELL HER HE IS SO PROUD OF HER AND DOESN'T MATTER WIN OR LOSE...HE KNOWS HOW WINNING FEELS AND JUST Wants his daughter to experience it..She will be one of the best if she can surf without worrying about what her dad and coaches are thinking about and her trying to win for everybody else and not for herself!!!! I HOPE HER PARENTS REALIZE ALL THE PRESSURE THEY ARE PUTTING ON HER AND PROBABLY DONT REALIZE IT!!!!
MY DAD DID SAME THING TO ME,,,ALL I WAS WORRIED ABOUT WAS WHAT HE WAS THINKING ABOUT HOW I PLAYED....AND I WAS NEVER GOOD ENOUGH...ALWAYS SAID I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER....

Watching Pua's psychotic father destroy her spirit with his sad projection of his failure is heartbreaking. She can't speak that she doesn't talk of the pressure of being the daughter of a world champion. Not one moment of pleasure from her...Passive Aggressive abuse....Take him out.
