    Those fan sleds are great. I have a touring SLE. Watch those air box boots as to not lean out the mixture. I also believe the manual says those jets are to actually be 2 different sizes. Love those old Skidoos.

      I love the 503s, fantastic engines. For sure, the plan is to eventually swap out those boots. I was reading up on the jetting yesterday, I thought they only staggered the jetting on the rotary valve engines due to the rotary valve timing, but I guess it's done on alot of engines. Typically the mag side is jetted leaner because that cylinder runs hotter due to the proximity to the exhaust pipe. I learn something every day lol.

    I use Jewlery cleaner to clean my brass carb parts , most places like Wal-Mart any pharmacy should carry it works great

      I'll have to give that a try. I really dont mind doing it the old fashioned way with a can of carb and choke, but the ultrasonic works so well on the carb bodies I'm gonna keep using it for sure.

    It's your Canadian comrade. Nice video..Thumbs up as usual. I'm 64, thank God you piped in some METAL, not that annoying millennial, monotonic, rap crap, otherwise I would have split! LOL! Sure is nice, I also don't have to hear every five words, "Uh-Uh-um" drives me nuts. Something to do with the IQ. Well as far as the copper/brass changing color in your cleaner, obviously a chemical reaction, (oxidation). I was formerly in the RF engineering world, (communications) and the connectors are made of brass, after some time outdoors, they will of course darken (oxidize). I found that cleaning (soaking) with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda solution will bring back the luster. By the way, we received our snow, Toronto news made a big deal about it, (Feb.22/23-2023) but a measly 5" fell, big DEAL! Being a former Montreal-er, that's dick all! None the less got one of my '95 GT 670 up and running, yesterday, did a rip around toady, but now needs work on the electrics. Man those machines and engines have some serious BALLS! LOL! Mind you, my last ride was back in '77, (75 TNT FA).... Locally someone has a pair of '96 Mach 1 and Mack Z, MINT!!!! in storage for over ten years, less that 500km!!!! I'm drooling! Maybe I can sell one of my kidneys! LOL!!! Cheers, keep it up, I find you interesting. Oh by the way, did you ever torque the nut on the jackshaft ??? One last comment, got to like the epoxy, but for myself would have preferred to TIG weld the carb.

    • @NorthwoodsNoise

      Thank you sir! Lol glad you enjoyed the music, cant make everyone happy but I felt it was time for a change. I'll listen to just about anything with a beat, but metal is by far my favorite. Thanks for the explanation on the brass. Interesting, I work with RF myself! I assume you mean Radio frequency since you mentioned comms. We got about 15" here over the last two days, plan to ride all weekend long. Those 670s are no joke! Still have to get around to torquing the castle nut, havent touched the green summit in a week or two but it's on my list of things to do before summerizing. Hoping the shop manual has it spec'd.

    • @NorthwoodsNoise
      @NorthwoodsNoise  Год назад

      Would've much rather tig'd it myself, I agree but unfortunately a tig welder is one thing I dont have. We'll see how long the epoxy holds up. Thanks again, I appreciate the comments!
