I just feel like I gotta say: I was there when you crashed, I still don’t blame you for a single god damn second for being as upset as you were. You are human, you don’t need to fake it. You came back and finished, even though it sucked. I do believe that shows a lot of character. But, I think if you’d just laughed it off I would have seen you as something other than human. I was pleased to see you being you. Keep it up Jimmer
Why do you guys talk to Jimmy like he's a fragile little child? He's a grown man, he doesn't need you looking after and mothering him. He made a mistake on a video game, i'm sure he's perfectly fine. Honestly its getting a bit annoying the way some of his fans treat him. i'll say it again - He's a grown man, stop treating him like a little kid who you need to protect.
FreedomIsSlavery I think you may be reading more into my comment than is intended but, hey, if I’m not communicating properly that’s really my fault so let me add: My comment isn’t _intended_ to coddle Jimmer. It’s a reaction to folks who seemed to be implying (on the stream) that he ought to just be happy, that everyone was there to support him and life was gonna be fine. Me, I more feel like Jimmer can just be pissed about things that suck and that’s fine. Why did I write something like that? Honestly, kind of for the same reason you bring up: I think he’s an adult and can handle himself just fine, anger and all. It’s the same way I’d treat any adult, let them go be mad/disappointed/whatever and expect they will make a full recovery because that have the emotional self regulation to do so. In the end my comment isn’t so much intended as coddling, but more as a rebuttal to folks I thought were being...rude? I guess? By treating Jimmer like he just had to be happy, like there was no way he could be happy unless folks told him to be happy. I think Jimmer had it covered. But....well, honestly, I can see you’re point as well. You’re tone is a touch rude, I’ll call you on that, but your message is fundamentally correct.
Jimmer and his team: crash like 20 times Also jimmer and his team: beat the nürburgring 24h distance record by 3 whole laps in whatever was left of that z4
I think i've never found a race more inspiring than this one. Early crash, difficult race, and sad news for your grandad. So much reasons to stop the race, but you stayed in, for your team, your stream, for the racing spirit. One month after, it still giving me goosebumps. Infinite respect.
Surprised but pleased you made a highlights video for this stream. Perfect analogy for the way life goes sometimes, lots of ups and downs but at the end of the day we've all got people in our lives who'll help us get through the harder days.
What a race, well done for coming back from the setback at the start and I was watching you all the way (apart from when I was asleep). Your an inspiration Jimmy and your content is brilliant and I love what you've done for the sim racing community! Good luck in the F1'96 race Jimmer!
I remember the first 'ring 24 hour I watched on TV. I'm not sure what happened before, but it seemed that a driver backed a Golf into a wall and limped it back... at the point I switched on the team were just about ready to send the car back out after spending quite a few of the small hours of the night putting a new rear end on. Their race obviously hadn't gone how they hoped, but they did what they could - which was to press on and make the best of it. There's something beautiful about an honest sporting effort when the chance of a good result is taken away. The commentators that day understood that, and so did the other teams sharing the garage that applauded them as they rolled the car out of the garage - that was a beautiful thing. Likewise I think everyone who watched the stream appreciated that you and your team got the car to the finish line. No one would have blamed you for pulling out... but kudos to you and your team for seeing it through. G
"It isn't over 'til it's over" could easily be considered the motto of racing as a whole. Just look at Valterri Bottas in Abu Dhabi, Max Verstappen in Mexico, and Carlos Sainz in Brazil in 2019. No matter how bad things got, they just kept pushing and pushing because nothing is set in stone until the checkered flag drops
This was a Top 3 Stream from a community standpoint. It had everything that this channel and it’s followers are known for. I’ll remember this race for a long time!
Me too. It was a particularly challenging journey and Jimmy once more showed what kind of a man he has become: He was able to show his negative emotions (sth most people cannot do, especially considering the number of people watching) and overcome them, helped by his friends and the support of the people in the chat cheering him on, being understanding, showing their love - and sometimes by asking questions that would have him explain something or recall an event so that his mind would not be focused on the negative things for a few minutes. I say this in mind of the experiences I have had with online communities over years now... Jimmy Broadbent chatto is the best, with The Race (former NISMO.TV) following behind.

Well done Jimmer, Oscar, Nate and Phil. Huge props to Jimmy for sticking with it too despite everything. I thought you were going to call it at one point - nobody would have blamed you.
