This episode is the turning point that marks the beginning of the suspicious behavior from the Banker that indicates he now knows what the player has in their case.
The sudden MASSIVE hike in the offer from $17,500 to $47,000 was likely because the Banker knew he was on the verge of achieving the dream ending as him and his wife held the top 2 amounts, and then the lowballed final offer was because the Banker knew he had the $75,000 and not the $100,000.

I mean, at that point, the average bank offer of the 3 remaining cases is around $58,000 so giving $47,000 is fair for both sides.
Not trying to defend the banker, but he MAY have known the cases. I'm just saying why the spike can happen.

@@iamjustdave There's much clearer proof of him knowing where the money is in later episodes, like him offering $17,999 on a $10k/$75k finish and $30,001 on a $30k/$75k finish when the player had the lower amount in their case.
