Awww so good to see all the behind the scenes and prep !! Love your Type A personality and approach about it all. And was surprised to hear my name at the end regarding ravelry, I was having so much fun watching your screen recording of your queue and your notes app. Hope you had a wonderful time (although from your insta stories, you seem like you did !!)
thank you vanissia! I already had a way of using raverly for myself and enjoying it but your video was so so helpful to even go deeper into it all at some points and I might even have to rewatch it at some point! ☺️ I really did! thank you 🫶🏻
i loved watching this so much! cannot wait to see more of your trip, it looked so lovely on your instagram! i'm going to brighton (and london for a few days) in a bit more than a week. did the exact same trip last year with my partner and actually got engaged in brighton eeek. it was so lovely to see your brighton and london trip as well. makes me excited to be there in a week or so! and i'm already planning the project i'm taking with me. will probably take too much with me but oh well. :-) edit; oh i'm actually working on the travelers cardigan as we speak! i'm really hoping to finish it so i can take it with my on my trip next week and so i can cast on a new project
ohh that’s so nice! I hope you have a wonderful trip and have enough time to visit YAK in brighton ☺️ haha, it’s natural for us to back at least one to many projects as knitters! but want if .. you know ;)
thank you, becky! ❤️ you'll make up for it at rhinebeck I'm sure and then I'll have to live through you and everyone who's going! cant' wait to share more soon :)
Loved your vlog Marlene, cannot wait to hear more about the Flock fibers festival! 😊 ❤️ Also I have one knitting equipment question - you mentioned you have both KnitPro wooden needles and Seeknit needles, could you tell which ones you like better and their comparison? I plan to purchase a wooden/bamboo needle set, but cannot decide which one😅 Thank you, Barbara 😊
thank you! ☺️ I can’t wait to share more either :) soo, I think knitpro interchangebles are great to start out with (my favorite are the ginger ones!), seeknit have they’re pros and cons I guess (I’ve only tried the fixed ones though so I can not give a full review on those - I like the feel of the bamboo but not so much the space between needle and cable which I’ve had some problems with moving stitches around before) BUT if I were to get a new interchangeable set right now, I would probably get the chiagoo bamboo! (my best friend really rates those and she’s been knitting for a long time!) I love their red lace cables so much because they have no memory so the don’t kink like the knitpro ones and most others do - I prefer this to swiveling cables although they’re already a step up from regulars for sure! I’m actually planning on getting some of their bamboo needles in my most used sizes for sweater knitting (so between 3-5 mm) to try them out with the cables I already own from them (these are the metal ones that are my favorite for socks!) I would always recommend getting one or two needles before getting a whole set, to try them out (I’ve never actually bought a full set yet to this day, I’ve always just gotten them individually and crates my own sets :)) hope this helped you with your thoughts on needle purchases! ☺️
Marlene thank you so much for your reply! ❤ You helped me a great deal, I have one pair of red lace cables from chiagoo as well and I love them too, but didn't know there are chiagoo bamboo needles as well 🤯 So again thank you for the advice, I will definitely try them out!! As always you are very inspiring 😊🌸
I Love all of your preparation. You were so close to where I live here in Portland, OR. I couldn’t go to Flock &Fiber this year but I so hope to go next year. Maybe you will make this a yearly event? 💖
we would've loved to road trip to portland too and visit ritualdyes and many more but we just didn't have enough time! some day though! :) in an ideal world, this would be the case but I suspect it would be a bit too expensive unfortunately :(
I understand. It’s not easy to make such a long trip. I have been dreaming to go to Europe my whole life and have not gotten there yet, so I know it’s a big decision. By now you are already back home and I’m looking forward to hear all about your trip. I am sure you had such a fantastic trip. 💖
I so enjoyed this vlog ❤ I love how organized you are, a truly inspiration for me. Hope you had the most wonderful time and experience ❤ Regards, Maria.
Hi it's May/@aiya_knits! You said Snoqualmie perfectly! :) I had my eye on that but unfortunately didn't see any by the time I got there. Your queue looks a lot like mine XD Excited to see your progress working through it!
You're making me want to make a Barbara shawl so bad, I love the textured look of it! Also, did you just make the needle stoppers out of some cork yourself or did you get them somewhere? Can't wait for your other vlogs + hauls from the PNW (:
it really is such a special texture without being a super complicated knit! ☺️ they’re from sostrene grene, super inexpensive but you also get a couple that I would probably not need very often, because they’re for needle sizes 6+ mm 💕
I really enjoyed the video! So curious to see which yarns you bought in the US! I by the way love your muslin shirt! Where did you get it? I'm on the hunt for a nice one for a while now 😊
hahaha that’s a very cheeky idea and I love it! I have not tried all of them so far so I’m not sure if I really have any authority to talk about it, but I’ll put it on my list and think about it some more! a couple of people have been asking about this recently actually! :)
Ahhhh it is so surreal watching this after we've already done the trip and I WANT TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!!
omg yes, haha and ME TOO!! ❤️
Im working on a scrappy anthology throw aswell! It's a really great project for just a little bit each day.

hey may! :) me neither unfortunately! someone in front of me in the ekf queue has snatched the last five skeins!
oh yay! ❤️
Hi Marlene, great video! It was so nice to meet you at Flock (in the line up at explorer knits) 😂😘
hi!! yes, even the waiting in line was a blast because of all the lovely people around! thanks for saying hi 🥰

I‘m not sure anymore and it doesn’t have a label unfortunately but the sassy classy ones you can find online look pretty similar! ☺️
Hey Marlene, LOVE your vids and I've been watching all year. Bit random, but what mascara are you wearing? 🔥 Looks so good!
hey bethany! thanks you soo much 🩷 I actually don’t wear any mascara in this video, I got a lash lift and tint before my trip! :)
Could you make a recommendations video for needles? I could send it to my boyfriend for christmas :)
hahaha that’s a very cheeky idea and I love it! I have not tried all of them so far so I’m not sure if I really have any authority to talk about it, but I’ll put it on my list and think about it some more! a couple of people have been asking about this recently actually! :)
❤🌈🧶
you are allowed to take a break Marlene.
thanks for the reminder, sue!
I feel like that’s something I tend to forget sometimes 🤍
