Btw you should buy a fantastic rogue-like game called Enter The Gungeon. I got hooked on it for months and it is so rewarding to feel your skills and reflexes getting better and better. Plus the aesthetics and humor in the game are so good
cloudbloom I've heard of it and heard good things. There's so many roguelites now that's its hard to know which ones to play and pass on lol
They fixed a lot of the issues you talked about.
But yeah, that feeling you explain of dying late and having to rebuild. That's like, the whole point of roguelites. Darksouls isn't a roguelite so you shouldn't compare them, compare it to nuclear throne, binding of issac etc, this game and rogue legacy are really the only ones that don't start you off at square one once you die

I'v picked this up on the Switch and it is the type of game that makes me say "Just 1 more run". Its only got a little hicup problem on the Switch that stutters every once in awhile but its not game breaking so its really no problem just a complaint

Nice review, though I feel like the fact that your upgrades do stay with you in subsequent runs is kind of underexposed in this. I had to double check with its Steam page to make sure that that was the case. Maybe I just missed it.

i feel like the upgrade sistem is kind of a way to help people having difficulties with the game,for example,back in the ''hello darkness'' update I kept dying at the watcher over and over again,i felt like it was too high of a challenge for em on my current skill level,however I had the solace of knowing that,because I was upgrading my weapons all the time,eventually I would be able to kill him,which eventually happened. Basically I feel like the upgrade system is there to help people that aren't as good at the game as a way to get a edge over the enemies,kinda like when you have to farm in a jrpg because the monsters are too high of a level.

What does RandG mean?
Emery Hutchings I assume you mean RNG which stands for Random Number Generator. It's basically the tendency for things in games to be totally random and unpredictable. Like item drops or critical strikes and so on.
