This alternative rock musical trend came and went in a flash. It included bands like Jesus Jones, EMF, The Shamen, Happy Mondays, etc. and it's often called (or lumped into) the Madchester, dance rock, grebo, baggy, and other scenes. In the blink of an eye, "grunge rock" came along in the US and laid waste to a bunch of rock genres. In the UK, what the US collectively called "Britpop" did the same thing. Bands like Jesus Jones were suddenly swept under record labels' rugs to make way for the likes of Pearl Jam and Oasis. Also, as another commenter said, the rest of Jesus Jones's albums weren't as good as "Doubt." They weren't bad, but they didn't have a catchy hit that captured the zeitgeist like "Right Here, Right Now."
The keyboard player jumped around like he was pissed off in his room after his mother told him he can't play any video games until he finishes his homework.
This was filmed in 1991. It's now 2020 and I saw them in November (2019), and also a couple of years ago in Nottingham. I can happily confirm that Iain Baker still to this day dances around and acts just like he does in the video. 28 years later... He's the star attraction. It's worth going to see them live just to watch him! :)
Funny story. They played a show in Ithaca New York in '93. My buddy got 5 of us "back stage passes." Which ended up meaning we could hang out on the tour bus with the band after the show. My buddy Paul made a bet (no idea what it was now) with Jesus H Jones. Well, JHJ lost the bet. The bet was the winner can cut the losers hair. Paul proceeded to clip all of the hair on JHJ head with a bic razor. I still have the pictures of that night. Sadly, no one got a groupy or got laid. But was one of the funniest nights of our lives.....
I saw Mike in a Hyatt lobby in Sacramento Calif. back when this album had just come out. A friend of mine pointed at him and said “are you Mike Edwards” as he replied “ yeah”. And just stood there and stared for like a minute. Then both groups just walked away. At that time he looked a lot like Cobain
Jay; what a day makes I was there when you made them real. I bought there CD in 1990 GOD how fucking great we were human back then, and not just political shills!
Lol Jay holding one of those disposable cardboard cd sleeves. For those who don’t know, cd’s used to come sold in elongated cardboard boxes. Even in the carefree 90’s there was an outcry about how wasteful they were and they switched to packaging them in reusable elongated plastic security frames. Eventually they did away with those in favor of simple magnetic security tags attached either inside or outside the jewel case. btw I’ve still got all my cd’s.
They failed because they jumped about when it wasn’t needed , it was ridiculous, NEDS atomic dustbin were the same , they were not great but they thought jumping about made them better than other bands , it didn’t , Radiohead were already creating masterpieces at this time
I really love this live version. So much energy!
Rode mountain bikes across Tibet/Nepal with JJ lead singer Mike Edwards in 97, great trip and he's one cool guy.
How did that come about ?

Early 90s such amazing bands. Jesus Jones , EMF, Beck, Stones Roses, Charlatans
Two great songs I will never forget, pure gold.
Back in 1990 used to live next door to these guys in Chapter Road, Dollis Hill in London.
Crying right now best times from the 1990s
That opening rift is one of the biggest sounds of the entire era. JJ produced some pretty good stuff back in the day.
Still good music.
One of the best bands ever!
2 of the best songs of 1991 from an underrated album that I enjoyed greatly my freshman year in college. Out of Time by REM is another gem from 1991.
Still i love this song since i was in grade school
Way underrated. Confused on why they weren't much bigger???? Great performance 👍
Honestly in 1991 you had a ton of amazing music coming out in all sorts of different genres. It was hard to keep up unlike today.
Cause the record company screwed them and stopped promoting.
It’s because their other albums were never as good as Doubt.

1991 grunge was amping up to crush everything else.
They sound pretty damn good live.
TOTALLY AWESOME, even now!!
I remember my 1st year college back in '91!!!!!😢
This SO validates why they were my first favorite band!!! Thanks for uploading! Love it!
Good kick ass bans. Luv them ❤❤❤ International bright young thing.
Awesome track and awesome live vocal :)
A melhor apresentação de Right "Here Right Now" ao vivo.

Way underrated album/band.
Maybe in your mind they are..not in the rest of the Real World they arn't..

Went to their show at Selinas Coogee Bay in 1991 it was wild.
Nice to hear the band on second song because the first was all playback but for the vocal and his guitar.
Underrated, period!
Not in my heart. Best ever!!
Una Banda demasiado buena para Estados Unidos
Qué temazos!!

COOL !!!!!!!!!!! surf music
Yes😁Awesome!

I didnt even know they had more than one song. But I guess that makes sense. Its pretty good too.
1991- when CDs were sold in long rectangular boxes. such a huge packaging waste haha. I bought the cassette instead.

Weird that Gen isn't on Drums.
I like listening to the CD...this is a bit too loud & why is that blonde going crazy with his head❓
They all fn high I suppose lol 😂
same as Kurt Cobain except his Jesus Jones haircut is perfect.
It seemed to me like their popularity was very brief.

Shame that they didn't perform international bright young thing,or right here right now which are both way better songs.
Go to 3:30 -- the band plays a second song you might like.
tell the drummer to wake up
I guess compared to the rest lol and also the keyboardist who's part backup dancer haha but really he has to keep the beat and concentrate
Yota Doug's Tool Collecting Channel lol right!? I was like wth is goin’ on? XD
he is doing his job great😁
Right? It’s like he took 10 Quaaludes
What happened whith the keyboard player? heavy drugs???
The singer hates drugs, so I don’t think he’d allow him in the band if that were the case.
Just skip to 3:30. Thank me later.
The canned backing tracks blow. Karaoke. Not so real real real.
That's a keyboard synth not backing vocals. It's the same in the studio recording.

Slipknot thinks jumping around makes you better as well.
No disrespect but he couldn't sing
Because of the keyboard guy running around acting the fool the lead singer got a ton of close ups !
