WHY. WHY DID THIS HAVE TO BE CANCELLED! AREARARGHGH Black Rock Studio was pretty talented, there's not a single thing that was bad in the first Split Second, and the second game could have been a hit.
Poor sales was to blame for that. Remember that this game was released in 2010 when it had to compete against ModNation Racers and the Goliath NFS Hot Pursuit at that time. And Disney caring only about money, see this as a massive deal and they had to overreact.
Goddamn where did you find all of these? I never thought that there were this many scrapped materials of Split/Second 2. KuruHS really needs to see this, this is a really interesting find! Also: 4:22 gave me goosebumps.
What if the rival TV is actually called Champions Alliance? The name at the top at 4:41 + (presumably) the two letters CS present in the logo seems to suggest that.
Disney should have done this game.. This is why I don't go see Disney Movies or buy much merch from them. Really Really Sucks! Hopefully Disney will do a Sequel. Maxamilian Dood lived streamed this game yesterday and got a bunch of people to buy the game for $5. Maybe it will get Disney or whoever interested to bring this stuff back!
What a shame, that cliffhanger all took us apprehensively waiting for Split Second II, I guess Disney took it to the grave with it. But, at least there’s Split Second, as it will be fun and always will be. 😔
split/second 疾風伝: a split/second fan game that will combine the Car-Fu mechanics of the Speed racer videogame with the mechanics of split/seconds destruction. Hot wheels will Also be included along with loops and monsters. And some of the tracks would cause unreal things to happen for example in the final race it will be a race across the crumbling Multiverse as someone would struggle to fix it (how bout you tell me some unreal things that could happen in a race!)
The closest sequel I can find to Split/Second is Ridge Racer Unbounded. Same gameplay: do tricks and gain power. Use power to take down your opponents. The difference? If Split/Second uses projectiles (or red shells from Mario Kart), then Unbounded uses the vehicle's body (or power star from also Mario Kart). The game is also good. But it didn't went well on sales, I believe. Too different from Ridge Racer's roots, which is understandable. That's like Mario's going Sonic The Hedgehog.
Ironically before Split second was released I remember playing on ps2 when I was like 4ish a game that match the description of Split second 2 mechanics themed to spy doing stuff in a car that became a boat that became a motorbike and running about shooting people. I don't remember the name but I do know it's not a 007 or James bond game (ironically found it a year ago didn't check the name but back if the box was the game )
I am sad at the fact that Split second and blur didn't get the sequels they deserved, the games were miss managed, I think maybe a AAA developer like EA or Code masters needs to buy both IP's so they can make Sequels for them, great video man :)
Every arcad-y racers are long gone. Split second, blur, motorstorm... They were all fantastic, only to be replaced by the usual soulless simulators and mario karts.
Having a proper sequel to Split/Second may be a stretch for now given the fact that the developers have closed their doors. BUT we now live in an era where indie development and crowdfunding are on the rise. So maybe perhaps someday the original people behind the development team can finally create the proper sequel to this game if given enough support and backing. Unless the Split/Second IP is already owned by Disney
*chuckles in motorstorm apocalypse* Jokes aside,ms apocalypse was probably inspired by this and the fact that it has you escape the city at some point(like split second ii as you said) is interesting to me
This game innovated massively and innovation is missing from today's racers, and unfortunately, Split/Second's vision didn't get much traction. However, I could already see the inclusion of boating and walking gameplay creating slow/disjointed moments that would break up the action and feel more annoying than fun, but of course, with so little information, who knows.

Black Rock Studio was pretty talented, there's not a single thing that was bad in the first Split Second, and the second game could have been a hit.
Poor sales was to blame for that. Remember that this game was released in 2010 when it had to compete against ModNation Racers and the Goliath NFS Hot Pursuit at that time. And Disney caring only about money, see this as a massive deal and they had to overreact.
God, this hurts. 💔
Goddamn where did you find all of these? I never thought that there were this many scrapped materials of Split/Second 2. KuruHS really needs to see this, this is a really interesting find!
Also: 4:22 gave me goosebumps.
It's an absolute crime that those mickey mousers closed down Blackrock Studios.
i want it even more now. :(
Please the sequel needs to happen i love this game so much
Somebody made i petition for split/second 2
Before you ask the story would be way too complicated for me to tell.
Curse you Disney, Curse you
The closest sequel I can find to Split/Second is Ridge Racer Unbounded.
That description kinda matches SpyHunter, maybe is that game?
@Game Over Tapes just looked it and ya you got the game I was talking about
I am sad at the fact that Split second and blur didn't get the sequels they deserved, the games were miss managed, I think maybe a AAA developer like EA or Code masters needs to buy both IP's so they can make Sequels for them, great video man :)
One of the best action driving games, we really need at least a remastered on ps4
My heart hurt knowing there will never be a sequel to this
I wish this would come back split second was an amazing fucking game
Split second lives rent free. Such a good burnout spiritual sequel
Every arcad-y racers are long gone. Split second, blur, motorstorm... They were all fantastic, only to be replaced by the usual soulless simulators and mario karts.
With forza horizon now kinda being the arcade killer
I can feel the mirrors edge in thise
Hmmm, Split Second cars...in NFS games...that would be god-tier levelsof wonderful.
*chuckles in motorstorm apocalypse*
Jokes aside,ms apocalypse was probably inspired by this and the fact that it has you escape the city at some point(like split second ii as you said) is interesting to me
I wish they’d release remake versions of Split Second and Blur for newer consoles.
I think thay have you can play it on Xbox one but idk if the graphics are better or worse
If someone could make split second 2. Hopefully that will be added to game rewards 2023 or 2024. I really hope!!
Such a good game,it's a shame they never ported it to the newer gen consoles
