This song popped out on my feed one week ago. My girlfriend left me because I'm depressed and have so much pain inside. I don't have enough words to describe how much this song moves me. It's just simply beautiful. I whish this was on spotify to hear it daily on loop
hey, I just wanted to say thank you c: I wasted my life away for the past 6 years, just letting time go through me, consuming substances, and well, I tried to take my life last year and spent a month on a psych ward and then kinda just continued with the nothingness. I finally got myself a job last week, and I'm actually excited to be making music and videos again, idk, things are kinda good for the first time in forever. I wanted to say thank you because even though I don't really tend to comment or interact, your art has been a huge thing for me, I've felt inspired by seeing you change throughout the years, and the sincerity I feel through the version of yourself you decide to portray to us, the parts you let us see. Idk, I'm just rambling, it's been a few emotional days tbh. Thank you for existing c:
When it comes to things I cannot change, sometimes I literally just pretend things are better than they are.😎 But yea, changing what we can is the main thing. So congrats on the new job, and I hope things continue to get better for you!😊
Hey, thanks for opening up. I’ve gone through similar experiences and music is what keeps me ten toes down on this rock. You have a lot more things to do before you leave us so please do them to the fullest and enjoy every second of it.
This comment is good and cool. I only spent a year in the pit (and few more after on the ladder climbing out) but I am so much happier now. Wishing you continued success.
Singer-songwriter, mad but deep video acrobat, prodigy guitarist, composer, bend knee contributor - and - always human, always connected, thank you Ben.
I see Ben, I click. Sometimes it's a mind-bending psychedelic trip through a 3D nightmare wonderland, sometimes it's hilarious, sometimes it's just a nice little sincere song. Whatever it is, I'll be thinking about it for a day or two...
Ben, your voices tone is literally perfect here and your falsetto is beautiful with the two combining to create an amazingly emotional relationship. Teared me up a little, so thank you.
I've been taking singing lessons for about 6 months now, and one thing I want to work on right now is transitioning between chest voice and falsetto. I've been looking for good songs to practice this on, and turns out my favorite musician just released an absolutely perfect one just 2 weeks ago. Love it. Thanks, Ben
I can't sleep on airplanes anymore my neck and my legs won't let me bend that way I have forced myself into shrunken positions twisted my bones and my wishes It was hard to get back up I did it so many times Gave my body and my light It was hard to get back up... My neck rejected my lifestyle before I could set myself free All the alarms and pains shooting through couldn't scream loud enough to reach you It was hard to get back up I slept for a decade at least without anyone stopping me It was hard to get back up... Separating out my old things before my parents leave this place throwing away the old dreams dreams and buildings without ever returning and it was hard to stay back up An idol with no shrine, just plastic left behind It was hard to stay back up I tried to take my time, less relentless with the climb and it was hard to stay back up...
Ben Show was just about my favorite thing on the internet (and I'd love to see more of it one day) - unparalleled ideas, editing, just *work* - LOVE. But man, it also felt so good EXPERIENCING this just now - straightforward and earnest and absolutely beautiful. I obviously don't know you other than through your art, so I'm not entitled to any acknowledgement or response - but if you happen to read this and it feels right - are you willing to shed some light on the inspiration for this one? Either way... Thanks for creating this.
Hey Ben, what a beautiful song! I really like it a lot and I can really relate. The way you sing it makes it sound very honest and heartfelt. Also I like how you mixed new and repeating parts. idk, this just speaks to me, man :)
Ben. You're great. 🎉 Really like you as an artist, nice to hit your viewers with such playful madness for you then to strip it all back to just guitar and vocals live. Keep it up! I would love to see the reaction to new viewers/subscribers that find you through this video and then venture out to check out your latest previous videos... If anyone actually does that let me know how that went! 😂😂😂
hey ben! I loved the song and it's beautiful seeing you playing. I love the sound of the scratching on the strings in the same way that I love your voice and the chords. I love the little moment of silence in between the start of the video and the beginning of the song. Somehow the contrast of the brown guitar and your blueish shirt makes the part that you sing 'hard to back u-u-u-p' really colorful and outwordly. The hint of a keyboard (?) in the background makes me wonder if there are spaces for some lost notes of a piano in this song. What if there was an amen break somewhere? That chair looks really confy, were you sitting there for a decade in an awkward position and your neck was hurting so it rejected your lifestyle? I was thinking about you last week, I haven't checked your channel in a while, I was in a really bad period of my life and I thought to myself that I was only going to see your videos when I got out of there. Suddenly youtube showed me this video and well, guess I have something to binge watch this weekend. I love asking questions and your music gives me a lot of reason to. Greetings and love from brasil!
