as of this week, my obs is about ready to run again after 11 months of engine and suspension work. next up is exhaust, new tires, and new wheels. then a couple paint touch-ups. its a 1996 gmc suburban k2500 long-wheelbase, black with a red interior. lifted way up.

Man I also have a 97 chev ext cab/step side. I just got the truck and was kinda confused what direction I wanted to go mods wise, but thanks to you I have a general idea of what I want to do. Mine is Maroon color, but I want to do a sick paint job. Any suggestions you have of some nice attractive colors that you’ve seen from around??
Honestly the color matched maroon trucks have become one of my favorites. If you don't want a ton of work wrapped up in a huge Color change, maybe try one of the new ruby red/maroon type colors from the current Chevy Silverado
I have a 95 extended cab Stepside I'm going to make kind of a show truck but off-road at same time and that's the direction I'm kind of leaning towards
Personally, I’d go with the factory smoke grey paint job from that era (‘95-‘99). Or the factory silver. Or of course factory black with your maroon interior. Also, please keep it stock exterior wise except for some nice A/Ts or M/Ts of course. Just bump up performance, but leave the body factory. It’ll never lose its value. Remember, the OBS is best for a reason. Keep it that way.

I have to say these trucks look best stock, with some nice tires on *stock* factory wheels. A leveling kit or an inch or two or three max, to where it looks like how it should’ve out of the factory, but the key is to make it still look factory. Ya know? The only thing to do other than keeping it clean, aggressive but factory is to go all out with a Duramax or Cummins swap, and that’s just going extreme. In other words, either keep it clean or go all out. Factory is better.
I have a 1988 chevy 2500 I’m slowly rebuilding I’ll make it one day!

Love obs Chevy. I wanted to see if anyone can help me out with one I picked up recently. It’s a 94 sierra Extended cab with a 5.7 350 5 speed SLX. Never seen one before. Especially a 5speed extended. Not have I ever heard of a SLX. What did I just buy?

My buddy built and twinturbo’d his 96 and it’s huge, bigger than that Cummins swapped white one. Not hatin just statin facts. Lol the white one is cleaner tho bc my buddy hits mud parks with his, it’s still pretty clean tho. I have a 2000 puter crew z71 short bed I’m working on and a custom 96 step side that was my first. The custom got flooded and ima paraplegic so the process is really slow…

The term OBS is absurd. Every time a new model comes out every previous model is now also an OBS. Probably best to call it by the GM name: GMT400, GMT800, etc
That's true. The previous does become an old body style, but the term OBS is like Square body. Pretty much everyone knows what it is referring to. It's when people start saying NBS, NNBS, NNNBS when it gets annoying.
