If you are a w2 employee your employer pays 10-15% of what you make bc they are paying for social security and other taxes on your behalf. Also you need to get dressed everyday (or you should) so why does that matter? Most people need a car too even if they work from home you still need to go off and do things. I know many people who both people have cars even if one works from home. Also, you can choose where you work and live. You can travel 1 hr to work or 5mins to work. So, yes, choices matter and one needs to look into pros and cons to everything.
This is such a horrible way to look at this, your job pays you to buy cloths and have dinner and go to the spa if you wish to. What they pay you per hour is what you are paid per hour, why factor in how far you live? if it's such a nuisance just move somewhere closer. A better way to do this is to calculate how much you EARN per hour instead of how much you're PAID. so if you're paid $2000 weekly for a 40 hour job and you don't have any other jobs or incomes then you are PAID $50 an hour. However you should divide by the total number of hours per week so $2000/168 = approx. $11.90 per hour pre tax, this is how much you EARN per hour. Now you can even factor your Sleep with this amount if you want. I don't know if you calculated that towards the end but I couldn't continue with the podcast because the first half was very hard to listen to.
@@Emerica771 she gets paid $66/hr for 40 hours a week so $2640/week . but only actually works 17.5 hours/week on average. so $2640/17.5 = $150/hr. Math adds up. If your employer thinks you provide value for the salary they pay you, then no need to work extra hours unless they are award you with additional pay or other career/growth avenues.

Good podcast! I did that with my $18/hour job and found out $13/hour is more! 😅
This was important because I was in so much physical pain at $18/hour. I'm better off at $13.

My paycheck says $66/hr, but i rarely work 15-20 hours in a week. I work from home, in pajamas. I am probably making $150/hr.
That math doesn’t add up 👀

79 an hour here. I probably 'work' 2 to 3 hours a day
That’s just a job. If you consider everything you said in the video you have to apply to everything else and at that point your not making anything
