Denzel should have won for Cry Freedom, Malcolm X, The Hurricane, and he was great in Remember the Titans, Crimson Tide, The Inside Man, Flight and many more.
It's crazy it took so many more years for Denzel to win an Oscar after this sketch.

What are you talking about? This sketch is from 2000, Denzel won a Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role 2 years later with Training Day.

@@mackjeez Not sure that I can agree with that. If you look at his peers, people in the elite levels of acting in their careers not just in the amount of movies, but the quality of movies and the quality of acting itself His peers have won Oscars far more and much earlier in their careers.
This sketch obviously predates his 2002 Oscar win for Training Day.

mansoor paghmani I don't disagree he deserves other wins but I don't see how there is anything "lesser" about winning for his role in training day. Many actors say playing a villain is harder and prior to that role I don't really recall Denzel ever playing the main antagonist so it was kind of a first for him and he crushed it.
Denzel should have won an Oscar for Virtuosity. Underrated movie and performance.
And ironically a year after this episode aired Denzel won best actor in 2002 for training day.
Hung out with Aries back in the day at Club Belvedere. Bought each rounds. Real cool and down to earth.

No kidding. Hurricane is a great movie. But its also heartbreaking how they stole some of the best years of that man's life for something he didn't even do.

He has two: Best Supporting Actor for *Glory* (1989) and Best Actor for *Training Day* (2001). This skit was done a year or two before he won his second.
