D-Day: The Storm That Crushed Hitler

- The tide of World War II shifted dramatically with the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, known as D-Day. This unprecedented amphibious operation marked a turning point as Allied forces advanced through France.
Careful planning, strict secrecy, and the courage of countless soldiers ensured its success despite significant challenges and severe weather. Following this victory, Allied campaigns such as Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge tested their determination, ultimately leading to the fall of Berlin and the end of the conflict in Europe on May 8, 1945.
This historic day ushered in a new era of peace and reconstruction.
Produced and Narrated by Liam Dale
Hi thank you nice dokument wars.
Not to take anything away from the brave young men of the allied forces during WW2 - but it was the blood, sweat and tears of tens of millions of Soviet citizens who crushed Hitler and ensure the success of the D-Day operations
The Soviets were a part of the allied forces. And they didn’t ensure victory for D-Day. Germany sent its best general to France to prepare for and counter the invasion. Russia was begging for the US to invade over and over to take the pressure off of them. Not to take away from the Soviets they absolutely were vital but they did not ensure victory as a guarantee for the D-Day landing. The Germans were defending were plentiful, well trained, well armed, and well supplied.

Not to take anything away from the brave young men!!! But then you say it’s thanks to the fucking Russians??? Wise up you muppet. Hitlers incompetence in invading your country along side the ongoing war lead to a quicker end to the war. A great number of allied countries lost a great number of its countrymen and you’re trying to points score. Hang your head in shame you fool.
@@carolinadog8634 We British and others were there too.
Great documentary. A lot of unseen footage.
Mistitled ass this is a general history of the western front after D-Day.
This makes your puffery beneath contempt.
If only they could see the state of Western Europe now.
Yeah right. I wonder why it is that people of color are always moving to white countries
We're doing better than your politics wants you to believe.
We are ok, thanks
@bushwhackeddos.2703 it's funny how people of color are always moving to white nations
They died to ensure their descendants would be replaced, ironic.
After Monty chose to ignore the intelligence reports of German armor in the area during Market Garden, he should have been relieved of command permanently. He was, like Halsey, more dangerous to his own men than the enemy was.
Wow that's awesome
Best Documentary is sure that you still do not know what Google is. :))) Otherwise, you would know who actually crushed the Nazis. Although without the participation of the allies of the USSR I would have fought for another 3 years. I do not believe that you are in a sober mind write such names for your video. :))))))
Pretty sure the Soviets crushed Hitler but ok.
The historical irony that France was exalted to be freed from the shackles of a merciless oppressor yet had no qualms oppressing the people's of Indo-China into brutal submission. The vulgar hypocrisy. The proud people of Vietnam against overwhelming odds won their freedom and the respect of the whole World.
The nazi Germany was defeated by the USSR.
Allies observed and waited until the last moment to join the winner.
True
😂😂😂😂
@Karottenbrot1
What's funny about that?
More than 80% of Nazi soldiers were eliminated by the Red Army! The best units were in the East while the posts in France, Holland, Belgium were reserved for officers with connections...
The "well" designed documentaries according to NATO propaganda tell you that the Anglo-Saxon bombings were exploits, but if you look at the figures of German industry you will see that at the end of 1944 the Nazis produced several times what they produced in 1941...
The Nazis were defeated because there were no soldiers to fight...
Even the bombings concerning the sources of fuel, the refineries is a bad joke ! The Germans lacked fuel because there was no one left for logistics.
Britain was fighting the Nazis while Hitler and Stalin still had a non aggression pact together and split Poland between themselves.

After few minutes of watching, I stopped this re-written history movie. Like there was no Moscow battle (German losses during the Battle of Moscow totaled 250,000-400,000 dead or wounded, and the Red Army suffered 600,000-1,300,000 dead), Battle of Stalingrad (1.2 MILLION lost). Battle of Kursk, involving some 6,000 tanks, 2,000,000 troops, and 4,000 aircraft. It marked the decisive end of the German offensive capability on the Eastern Front and cleared the way for the great Soviet offensives of 1944-45. Operation Bagration - Operation Bagration were significant: an estimated 350,000 to 670,000 German soldiers were killed. Battle of Berlin (only Soviet Army) - German casualties At least 92,000 soldiers died, Over 200,000 soldiers were wounded, and Nearly half a million soldiers were captured. D-Day? What D-day?😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
You seem to miss the point.. THIS is a documentary about D Day.. NOT the important role played by The Soviets.. You should take off your Russian blinkers.. ;-)
these docs are beginning to stink

Market garden didn't fail because of fuel and supply shortages. Nor was it well planned. It failed because they didn't have enough planes. To drop the entire force at one time. They were dropped more than five miles away from the target. Underestimating german strength. Dismissed intelligence reports, communication problems. And an ego trip to be the first allied general to get across the Rhine. Montgomery was a second rate general. And all his success is either at American expense. Or due to American supplies. If it wasn't for American armor, equipment, and supplies. Montgomery would've lost North Africa. He didn't acheive his objective in Sicily. He was supposed to take Cean on D-day. Takes credit for winning the Battle of the Bulge.

Well, there are over 9000 allied soldiers interred at the cemetery behind Omaha beach alone. There are cemeteries with thousands of Germans near there as well. If you want precise information, do a web search. Suffice it to say that the losses suffered by both sides in only a few days were horrendous.
@@stargazer5784 Operation Bagration were significant: an estimated 350,000 to 670,000 German soldiers were killed. STOP re-writing history!!!! All German Army was on Eastern front.

All credit goes back to the Soviet Union without their progress in battle. No one knows how the results will be, the success of the Soviets will be envied by the West and the Europeans.
The success of the Soviets? Stalin treated his troops like cannon fodder. Millions of fine men died under his leadership because of his piss poor tactical skills. Had those troops been commanded by American generals, there would have been far fewer lost.
Whoops
