At 20,000 feet, its probably the largest man made structure pretty anywhere. Don't I'd ever want to visit the Whit Tower though; 600ft high and no elevators anywhere.
It's really cool to see how the overall quality of your channel seems to be getting better with each new video, good job man! If you do live stream, weekend would probably be the best time for it, a lot of us live in the old continent afterall
Audible is how I have been listening to Wheel of Time on my drive to and from work :3 I am a little over halfway through The Great Hunt now! I guess I've had a subscription for about a year and forgot, so I had all these free credits and have almost the entire WoT audio series now x'D
Subbed. Here from Daniel Greene's channel. Excellent content, sir. Also, what makes you think you deserve to be Nae'Blis? Huh? The Dark Lord hasn't said anything to me!
I'd be thrilled to learn of an upcoming live stream. Even if my work schedule might prevent me from catching it. I'm in Eastern so can more likely catch evening shows from Central / Mountain or a late afternoon show from Western. Plus, I feel it would be a pleasant change from the scripts. (One of my favorite moments from the channel so far was the outake of you laughing during the filming of Bela's character examination.) Great episode, well researched and presented. If anything could be said to have been "missed", I personally would have liked a bit of examination into the White Tower's growing influence in Tel'aran'rhiod. Or perhaps of the influence of the warders on military training and traditions. Keep up the great work, proud to be a patreon.
For the future of Tar Valon, I'd like to think Cadsuane has enough respect for those ashaman she spent time around, or is at least pragmatic enough that after hearing about the Seanchan raid, will offer the Black Tower a home in Tar Valon; they do have that brand new palace to house them in. As for the Dragons Peace, I think any war between Tar Valon and the Seanchan Empire will mostly be something similar to the Cold War. Lots of Espionage and trying to undermine the other.
Seachan itself is in chaos personally I think Tuon will focus on that not the Westlands. What I see happening is she consolidates the areas she had post book. Builds a fleet and raises more armies from the new territories. Then returns home to try and retake her core lands.
I'm on Mountain Standard Time, and I would certainly participate on a live stream if you did one. As to the ideal time for me, it varies. Evenings tend to be best for me, but of course if it's evening in the western US, it's full-on night in Europe and Africa and late in the evening in the eastern US and South America. That could be a problem for your more easterly audience. I think your analysis of Tar Valon is great, I can't think of anything I would add.
First time intro into this world via Amazon prime. Checked for the books & 14 in total. But 7 main books going for $53 on Kindle. Am thinking of buying them. Very, very intrigued by this world. BTW, just subscribed to your channel.
I have a question, in a new spring Moraine to used the power specifically she used Air, water, with touch Earth slam the pond water to hit LAN. However, Aviendha used Water, and Air only to put out the fore in The Gathering Storm chapter The death of Andrin. If anyone has an a wet please let me know. Thanks.
Great job! I like your channel very much, as well as Greene Daniel's (and not so much of the other guy without glasses, whose name I have forgotten)! I am very interested in the live stream idea. Even though I live in totally different time zone, I recon that if I can stay up late to watch NFL I might as well join the live stream to give you a bit of headache with not so brilliant questions.
You should do a cultural examination on ”source users” in general. So - aes sedai rules and politics, history, current future -wise ones ” ” -sea folk wind seers or whatever ” ” Etc.
Oh oh, and a video on the culture/politics/history of the forsaken. Like how do they interact with one another. What are their factions and rankings of power, etc? That's definitely something I wish we had gotten to see more in the books. Especially them all together...
Hey Nae'Blis, so I was wondering where you get all of your information about the history and such? Is it all hidden within the books and I just never picked up on it? Or is this mostly coming from the WoT Companion (which I do not have but would love to get my hands on)? I am always fascinated with these videos you do and learn so much so thank you for it!
It's gotta be a combo of both, but the WoT Companion is also "in universe" it's not just an exposition dump, but as though some historian managed to compile all the surviving knowledge in the third age.
When a sister goes black Ajah, does her warder turn black as well. Most were red, who didn’t have warders, but sisters of blue, green and yellows are also supposedly black ajah. The greens and blues would have had warders. Through book 8, I haven’t seen any mention of how the warders deal with her joining the black ajah.
Exactly. If this proliferates, it could give non-channeling people a comparable power to the one power in combat. I wonder if they would adopt the use of gunpowder themselves?
The one thing that intrigues me is the Seanchan know Sul'dam can learn to channel, and theres some called an Oath Rod. Pragmatism tells me that training your sul'dam to be battle channelers who swear fealty on an oath rod is the best move you can make; you more than quadruple the number of channelers, and without then A'dam to give away their identities (when fighting Seanchan, try to kill the leashed women first), you can intersperse them throughout your forces and make impossible to be targetted
I would not be surprised if the reason Andor and the White Tower have such a strong connection is because it was originally a hostage situation. Kidnapping a leaders child and forcing the monarch to do as they're told or else while training the daughter and or sons the ways of the White Tower to bring them in line.
It wasn't, the queen of Andor did it as a way to legitimize her thrown. For sending her daughters and sons to Tar Valon, she got a respected general, his army, and an Aes Sedai advisor; much like Hawkwing had. This is on top of having the next ruler taught at the greatest font of knowldge in the known world, as well as more grounded in reality thats to those years as a novice, haviing to do menial labor and answer to others, while the sons, who are mostly going to become the military leaders, train with the best swordsmen the world has to offer. All in all, I think Andor got the better end of the deal there.
@@SH-qs7ee oh I know. But the scenario I put forward is something that I believe the White Tower would do. The Aes Sedia are not above assassinations and kidnappings. We see them kidnap two kings and the Dragon Reborn with little to no repercussions and most people act like the White Tower was perfectly justified in their dealings.
Just occurred to me that the fact that the sul'dam can learn to channel and that the Aes Sedai would then tempt them to come to Randland, is akin to capitalism tempting the elite among Soviet Society.
As for what happens after, don’t they have to conspire to erase the history of Tarmon Gaiden, Dark one and the Dragon/Creator? Otherwise how could humanity ever break into the dark one’s prison again unknowingly? As they surely must, for there is no end to the turning of the wheel...
I find it funny how everyone thinks that the Seanchan are somehow in a position of strength after the last battle. The Black Tower and the White Tower will rather quickly gather their strength and outstrip the Seanchan of their only credible defense, the Damane. Unless gunpowder weapons play a major role in the fighting, i see no credible reason why the westlands and the aiel united against them wouldn't absolutely stomp Seanchan, and with all of the atrocities, their enemies have credible reasons to unite and keep fighting so the alliance against them wouldn't most likely end prematurely. Not to mention the social turmoil that will most likely lead to the Seanchan empire tearing itself apart in the coming years, which not even Matt can or would probably stop, since he only cares about Tuon, not the actual empire and has shown that he isn't okay with Aes Sedai being enslaved.
Seachan itself is in chaos personally I doubt Tuon does anything in the Westlands. Beyond what has already been done of course. I think it's far more likely that she tries to return to Seachan and secure it. Assuming the whole damne thing doesn't blow them up of course. Either way though I don't find any serious attempt to continue conquest in the Westlands at all realistic.
I think you'd find that technically Dragonmount is the tallest man-made structure in the world :)
At 20,000 feet, its probably the largest man made structure pretty anywhere.
Don't I'd ever want to visit the Whit Tower though; 600ft high and no elevators anywhere.
I seem to remember that they do actually have elevators build in. They are just not in use
@@ResandOuies They might've forgotten how to power them?
Depends how you define "structure".
@@ResandOuies they don't. I believe the reason why you may think that is a misleading comment by Mesaana lamenting that the building lacked "lifts."
HOT DAMN I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Thank you my friend! You know I’m a fairly big fan of yours as well!
*Cue the guy love song from scrubs*
Hey you're that guy
Yah this channel so much better than that danny greene channel. LOL
Cultural examinations are always fascinating to me. I love worldbuilding & lore as apart of the fantasy genre
Love how in depth the content is. So many details missed even after 3 times through.
It's really cool to see how the overall quality of your channel seems to be getting better with each new video, good job man!

I'd love a video on Ajahs and the different positions, members and values. Would be great for new readers or generally informative
As an anthropologist I love these cultural examinations.
Myself as well. If it mentions anything regarding cultural examinations, I’m there!
Living in Ireland & loving your channel. Keep up the fabulous work
Nae'blis what did we do to deserve you 😭😭😭 but is the White Tower technically the largest sleepover of all time?? vote now on your phones
Ooh, here comes the red spoiler warning - time for me to go! See you in a couple of months.
Great video, BTW! Keep making awesome content :)

Just found your channel and i absolutely love it!! Great work!!

I'm all for unification but at neither the black or white towers. They need a true fresh start.

"The Lord Captain Commander of the Children of the Light would spend every day plotting to assassinate the Amerlyn but he would still come."
"City state" of tar Valon. Hmph. Everybody know Aes Sedai pull strings, & nations dance! ... Grumble grumble, Flaming, witches... You'd be wise to stay away from them!

Different cultures have different traditions for the same thing IRL. So why wouldn't these cultures have different ways and traditions?

I'm curious about what happened to the old rebel camp outside of the walls. It might become a new village outside of the walls, similar to new Caimlyn
i would watch a live stream

Nice summary.
And I would love a live stream and I also live in the Midwest. So anytime after 4pm is cool with me. I'm off work then.
Don't forget the effect on the world of the reintroduction of gunpowder in warfare.
Exactly. If this proliferates, it could give non-channeling people a comparable power to the one power in combat. I wonder if they would adopt the use of gunpowder themselves?

I don’t know about Pink ajah, but I’ll definitely sign up for the Purple...purple reign, purple reign ;)
you did well
Next should be a whitecloak video
Just occurred to me that the fact that the sul'dam can learn to channel and that the Aes Sedai would then tempt them to come to Randland, is akin to capitalism tempting the elite among Soviet Society.
The Pink Ajah??? How do I become a member ??? And what do they do?
And the island looks like a giant ladybit.

No they tell you that in the book by the time it comes back around. It will have been so long that everyone has forgotten.
What would the pink ajahs main focus be?
Time suits me In Ireland and probably good for most Europeans

What is a discourse?
what would the pink ajah do?
I'm thinking public relations and teaching
I always thought the "valon" part was pronounced like Avalon, not tar-vallen
Same! I read it in Dutch first, so that impression was even stronger.
Bela killed Asmodean
Great vid man
