These sailors are in mortal danger - their missiles were INOP for 30 minutes, and some of the cannon rounds are exploding dangerously close to the vessel. They pulled through in the end, but this is what The Chieftain would call a significant emotional event, even though it's one where nobody got injured. The handling of the fallout did result in the firing of the Danish Chief of defense though.
The Danes were the finest soldiers I ever served with in Afghanistan. Bar-none, hands down, warriors in the truest sense of the word. Just hardcore dudes.

Mere specifikt bruges det til at koordinere forskellige systemer også, så time on top er når målet rammes, og time to impact vil så kunne være de individuelle skud. Det er vigtigt hvis man skal ramme samme mål med forskellige enheder, der alle sammen har en forskellig TTI, men samme TOT.
Really good. But this is old version drones that Yemen and the Iraqis are sending out. The new Iranian ones, if they would come in bigger numbers would be really tough if not impossible to handle. Danish ships has now left the seas because they understood this. Middle East has changed, the new capabilities of the powerful proxies are a Big challange for the Western countries.
Having all those weapon systems available and then still having to rely on partly manual shoot down due to systems malfunction. Anyway, it shows why you need to have actionable cool personnel on such a mission.

Active Phased Array Radar (APAR) is a shipborne active electronically scanned array multifunction 3D radar that can control 32 Missiles at the same time , Sm2 has a range of 167 km , ESSM at 50 km and then you have to use the super rapids 76mm to shoot down 4 drones it is really embarrasing that denmark sends ships with known errors to a warzone with almost no missiles (sm2) , or old missles ESSM with old guns lifted of old corvetts , Patrole vessels(Stanflex 300) or MTB Willemoes with old ammo that dossent work like they are suppose to , it speaks to the crew standard that it vent without casulties on the frigate they where almost down to the range of the Millenium CIWS and those 4 drones should never have gotten inside gun range at all please improve the standard before sending anyone out again.

The leaked report states that because of a malfunction in the firecontrol system (Old known error that has not been fixed) they can't use the missile guidance using the Interrupted Continuous Wave Illumination (ICWI) technique, thus allowing guidance of 32 semi-active radar homing missiles in flight simultaneously, including 16 in the terminal guidance phase. 3. APAR is an AESA radar that have the cued search (a mode in which the search is cued using data originating from another sensor which could be Smart-L in this case or the CEROS 200 (but i dont know if those have been integated , the Ceros are both radar and elektrooptickally which you can see on some of the screens)). 4. As a fully digital Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, the SMART-L MM/N provides unrivalled long range performance up to 2000 km, contributing to a significant increase in air surveillance, extending capabilities in ballistic missile detection and space domain awareness so those 2 combined should not have any troubble detecting and tracking 4 drones which they dont seem to have either (and i do know what a radar horizon is ;-) so the 2000 km is only for ballistic missiles). 5 Denmark bought only 30 SM2s for 3 Frigats just before the russians invaded Ukraine for the second time, they use some for testing each frigate (2 missiles each prolly but at least 2 as i have seen videos of the tests) so that leaves around 24 so aprox 8 each while they have room for 32. 6. ESSM are old and have been taken from Stanflex 300 the old corvets maybe even from the old Peder Skram frigates and they have a way to short a range for the task that a modern Anti Air frigate is reguired to perform. 7. The ammo on the old 76mm Super Rapids where malfuctioning as the leaked report also states. 8. As they where tracking all 4 drones if the APAR had worked the guns should not have been used at all. So my young swedish friend it is also an entirly other matter to take down drones on sea then it is on land and the radars on ships are most often way better on ships normally especially on anti air frigates (when they work). The danish goverment have done nothing to update, enlarge, modernise, improve their navy even though we got a warning back in 2014 when russia invaded crimea, what makes it even worse is that they have even been sitting on their hands for 2 years since the second invasion started 2 years ago.

The staff make a huge effort and are super professional, but the video certainly does not tell the whole truth about worn-out and non-functioning weapon systems that the military leadership has provided to these soldiers. It is completely unforgivable, and a super bad military structure that the politicians must look into - and by the way, from the political side, they have also fired the defense chief after the storry went public - he became the politicians' wash, unfortunately. But looking at the overall structure of the defence, there is a very good reason to look at this and create a completely new structure so that the Danish population can sleep safely at night and not think that their defense is not working.

The economic cost of this is nothing to clap about when you think of these young men going back home to not being able to afford starting families or ever having a home. When you stop fighting for old men and arms dealers, you wouldn't even need to be there risking your lives in the first place, there's no honour or heroism in this in fact, the very opposite once the history books are written and show who you've been supporting under what motives. Poor souls, and I say that with the deepest of pity.

@@NordicRagnarok deres missil batteri gik ikke af deres aim-7 sea sparrow som skulle bekæmpe dronen det var også derfor de brugte deres kanon i stedet

Joda, det skal netop frigives, idet mandskabet stadig fik løst opgaven, selvom flere benspænd (der åbenlyst kunne være undgået fra politisk hold) blev mikset ind. Godt kæmpet af mandskabet ombord med de værktøjer de havde til rådighed!
Ligesom alt andet millitær, så er også dette “legetøj” total spild af danske skattekroner.
Not the brightest bunch to be cheering. The economic cost of this is nothing to clap about when you think of these young men going back home to not being able to afford starting families or ever having a home. When you stop fighting for old men and arms dealers, you wouldn't even need to be there risking your lives in the first place, there's no honour or heroism in this in fact, the very opposite once the history books are written and show who you've been supporting under what motives. Poor souls, and I say that with the deepest of pity.
These are Danish troops. They are treated MUCH better than homeless American vets. The majority of these guys already have a home and family.

@donolsen6141 - det var Samad droner fra Yemen og ikke noget fra DJI. De kan desuden have en pakke med sprængstof på 50 kg under sig når de flyver ind i skibe. De er ikke for sjov.

Din logik viser at du ikke har forstået en døjt. Man gør ikke ting op i kroner og ører, men hvor stor en risiko de er og mængden af potentiel skade de kan forvolde. Hvad er værdien af et containerskib+last+bjærgning+ophugning og oprydning (eller en Fregat for den sags skyld)? Langt langt mere end hvad et par missiler koster... Hvad er konsekvensen af at lade være med at skyde de fjendtlige mål der kommer, af økonomiske årsager? Ud-af-skalaen dårlig omtale og dertilhørende økonomiske tab der langt langt overstiger prisen på missilerne...
Fordi det er jo så meget billigere bare at lade mandskabet og skibet blive skadet af droner end at forsvare sig
