  • Ambassador Andrew Young’s storied career in activism, politics, and diplomacy is belied by his steady and calm demeanor. The New Orleans native is so aware of his reputation that he even named his 1998 autobiography, “An Easy Burden: The Civil Rights Movement and the Transformation of America.” In this week’s episode of “Love and Respect with Killer Mike,” the civil rights leader, former ambassador, and heavily awarded civil servant talks to Killer Mike about Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King, a career of service, and how he’s managed to stay calm under pressure for over 60 years.

Great interview. Killer Mike is an awesome human being and a talented artist. I'm a white Polish dude from Eastern Europe but despite geographical distance and cultural differences, I feel deeply the struggles and challenges of black brothers in the States. Historically, my country suffered a lot and we had to fight hard for our freedom and independence. On a personal note, I was growing in a messed up family, in economically challenging period of time. I know what poverty is and what being an underdog means. Thank you for sharing the universal message of love and respect. All the best for the black community in the States. Thank you for creating jazz, soul, r&b, blues, electro and hip-hop. Love ya!!!

I love how Killer Mike is so respectful. Malcolm X being a kind soul is something I could totally see. Media made him out to be a monster and people believed them.

I personally don’t see what exactly did there generation accomplished, you do have black people with nice jobs🙂 very good but that comes with a cost we both know this, my tribe are still in chains doesn’t control any employment for its people, foreigners that can barely speak English can get a job before me an a nice job too lol an when we do see you people that suppose got the good side of the deal, looks at the ghetto child worst than the so-called oppressors. There no true color line there’s have’s and has not, ok cool but when you go out your way to ensure the has not to continue to has not you become a problem not a solution. I believe once Malcolm and Martin truly realize how they were being used they were murdered, survive brother I understand
