I saw Little Feat live in the 70’s when they opened for Linda Ronstadt. They had the house rockin’! I believe she had a little fling with Lowell George (the lead singer) back in the day. Then they became friends and he wrote her hit song, “Willin’”. Another life that ended too soon.
In the 1960's, many sitcoms had a "Beatles" episode where a band of long hairs would come into town and the band would have a bug name like the Beatles did. For Gilligan's Island, it was The Mosquitoes. For F-Troop, Lowell George (the lead singer here) led a group of long hairs called The Bedbugs to Fort Courage. You can find it on RUclips....
You tell me another band that could jam like this at 9 AM on a Europe run? These dudes were the freakin' bomb! And Lowell ... so autobiographical/prophetic!

Give a listen to the entire albums "Feats Don't Fail Me Now," "Waiting for Columbus" (one of the best live albums ever, with a much better version of Fat Man kicking it off), and even "Let it Roll" which was their first studio album after the death of Lowell George. Lead singer in Canned Heat
Check out Woodstock 👍
I saw Little Feat open for the Greatful Dead. It was like going from a Masarrati to a puttering Model T.
No band could upstage Little Feat.
Love me some Little Feat. Live performances can be hit or miss, I find that they can't always capture the same energy, but they hit it out of the park on this one.
There is a video of a whole concert, outdoors, in Holland they did. It is awesome.
Long distance love - fool yourself - easy to slip - roll um easy - home ground - all that you dream - on your way down
Dude!!!!!! My favorite Little Feat tune. Saw them in concert in Mobile over 45 years ago with Wet Willie, Blue Oyster Cult, Manfredi Man and the Earth Band , and Cactus. One fantastic night.
I saw Little Feat live in the 70’s when they opened for Linda Ronstadt. They had the house rockin’! I believe she had a little fling with Lowell George (the lead singer) back in the day. Then they became friends and he wrote her hit song, “Willin’”. Another life that ended too soon.
Outstanding musicianship each and all!! Every time, every song.
LittleFeat..."SKIN-IT-BACK"!..&..."SPANISH-MOON"....Thanks-Brother-Jamel!!.....Unlimited-Blessings...:)
Feat!!! Unsung heroes. Underrated. Great band that I always forget about. Thanks for the reminder!
Feet Don’t Fail Me Now- is a great song to try!!!!
One of my most favourite 70's bands, one of the best ever. Love tripe faced boogie, specially live on the 'waiting for Columbus' album. The change over from dixie chicken to tripe faced boogie is top shelf!
SPANISH MOON, FROM WAITING FOR COLUMBUS! Little Feat was so original!
Best ever
There was a great radio station located in Raleigh, NC during the seventies, call letters WQDR. They specialized in "album rock." They certainly played a lot of Little Feat. This song sounded incredible on my ESS speakers!
I would suggest you look up "Fat man in the bathtub with the Blues" on Urban dictionary :D
Little Feat have a sound all their own and it's awesome!!! "Willin" is a great tune you will like.
Their best song is “willing”
I noticed in the comments someone suggested Dr. John he was great his top radio songs were right place at the wrong time and qualified
That’s Bill Payne on the piano he played with The Rolling Stones also let It bleed album I think
You explained for me what I didn't know, I been loving this music forever. I'm 64 & never couldn't understand their words. You rock, Jman!
Must do “Willin” and “Dixie Chicken”
Little Feat is my all time favorite band. Listen to the live album Waiting for Columbus and you know why. They have energy and funk, soul, blues and rock. It's timeless.
Still need to hear them play Spanish Moon off Waiting for Columbus with Tower of Power on horns
My oldest son was Feat's guitar technician for about 10 years, up until about 6 months ago. He went to Jamaica every year for their Ramble On the Island fan fest. They recently fired their long time drummer Gabe Ford, who is guitarist Robben Ford's nephew. I've got tons of autographed memorabilia and pics of my boy with folks like Jackson Browne. Good stories, too. 😊💜💚💛✌️
You know what’s going on, Jamel! Glad you were kept safe from the bad things you grew up around.
Some of the best musicians to ever be in one band ever. been a fan since I was in my teens back in the '70's.
I like Oh Atlanta and Time Loves a Hero and Easy to Slip. 😃
Say hello to Cerphe & Damien
Long Distance Love is my favourite. Saw them live back in 1989.
jamel will love 'long distance love'
"Tripe Face Boogie " by Little Feat from the Waiting for Columbus album.
Gary, you must be one of the old GOODFELLAS from the WHFS days GOD Bless you
Little Feat... another one of those bands that incorporates many different genres into their sound. Give a listen to the entire albums "Feats Don't Fail Me Now," "Waiting for Columbus" (one of the best live albums ever, with a much better version of Fat Man kicking it off), and even "Let it Roll" which was their first studio album after the death of Lowell George. I still listen to all three of these regularly, love them!
Ah yeah this is some damn good music!
Little Feat what a treat. Give me some Georgia. Give me some southern creole everyday every way..jam jam on it.
This was from The Old Grey Whistle Test , the best British TV music show in the 70s/80s....The guys landed in the UK in the morning and went straight to TOGWT studios...Rock and Roll Doctor from this session is fantastic..I've no idea how they played this well in the morning!
I think you've shocked poor Jamel.
I saw these guys in 1989 in Columbus Ohio - One of my all time favorites!
Finally lol great reaction. Wish you had done the Waiting for Columbus album live version tho.( one of the top rated live recordings of all time) Sound is 10 times better.
Lowell George's heart gave out from speed balling. He died in a Marriott across from the Pentagon 1978 after a concert without Little Feat... I was living 6 miles away... Little Feat owned Washington DC
Now, you're getting INTO the rabbit hole, cousin. Keep digging. It only gets better from here. HOO-yah!!
Are you referring to the old WHFS-FM?
I love this band! I started listening to them when I was 12 years old around 1973 and they and the Grateful Dead have been part of the sound track of my life since!
