Thanks bro this mad a lot of sense in a lot of ways for me. Thought I wanted this boom arm found out I really don’t want anyone type at all. Mic will stay on my desk it’s fine. Thanks again man.
You say it is too distracting if the mic is up high, then why did you buy a mic with RGB lighting ? Also, to get rid of background noise you need to lower the gain on the mic and raise the volume of the mic to compensate. The mic gain is what allows it to pick up sounds from further away. Once you have the mic further away from your keyboard, then you adjust the gain and you can exclude the keyboard noises. If the mic is right next to the keyboard no amount of gain adjustment will get rid of it.
Sadly just had to return one of the variations of this product, because the tip where the mic connects, does not rotate to face the direction i want it.
Does the bottom arm go downward from this position anymore or is this as far as it goes? I marked the point in the video I am talking about. ruclips.net/video/-dPafJArX_Q/видео.html
Good thoughts, I'm trying to go to a dedicated mic and am thinking the same thing; where to mount a giant boom arm across my desk.

for background noise - put your mic on cardioid or supercardioid, turn down the gain, and put some damping on the walls
Just ordered one but, now you got me wondering for the same reasons you are returning it. Thanks for the info.
Thank you for the review! I always wondered how this works and looks and honestly this was a good review!
Thanks Joe. A very straight forward review and to the point.

It’s because you have a compression mic. You need a dynamic mic if you want to cut out that other noise.

Sadly, I returned this since I didn't need a boom arm. I don't really remember much about it outside of what I recorded in this video.
