    This is just so awesome Miss Erica. I so wish more people would homeschool. It’s videos like these that help parents realize there are choices for them and their child to choose from…and to be able to listen to Haley give her take on it is the bomb digity. What a terrific resource you and your family are providing for homeschooling parents and kids. 🤗

    We have tried TONS of science curriculums. We finally settled in Science Shepherd. We LOOOOOOOVE it. 5 boys over here. We actually WON Astronomy for my 8th grader for FREEEEEEEE :-) He picked Astronomy too. He had already done Intro to Bible. My 6the grader did Physical Science. And he's my reluctant learner but Science Shepherd had become his FAVE

    I love how you included your daughter’s review in the video. She did a great review and explained it so well - good job. I’d love to see more homeschool videos from you, I miss them. I have a 6th grade daughter and I would love to see realistic DITL homeschool day and a tour of the desks… they look so cute with the colors and calendar and all!

    So Helpful!! I have been looking at this particular subject from Science Shepherd for over a year. Think I'm going to have my 7th, 8th and 10th graders do it together next year. So nice to hear your little gal's honest review. I really appreciate this, as this subject from SS is sooo new.

    Think about trying this with my son not this coming school year but the next. He will be going into 6th grade and has never really covered astronomy. Thanks for a great in depth look and review of this curriculum!❤

    We just started introductory science, and both my children are asking to do multiple lessons in one day. I'm having to make sure I have all I need weeks/months in advance.

    Thank you for making this! I have been looking into Science Shepherd, but there isn't much info out there. I thought it was quite affordable for having a video component, compared to most other video options.

    I have been obsessing over what to do for next year science...and this video helped me make my decision! I need to outsource some subject for my sanity! I work part time & my son loves hands-on experiments, but I just cannot. 🤣 So this looks like it's a great fit for us! Thanks for the awesome info!

    Thank you so much for your review. It looks really interesting. One question. I saw the bundle I'm interested in purchasing for my son. The price is very reasonable ($43), WOW! In the description it states "online video lessons available". Upon further research, I saw the online classes are $500! Am I reading this correctly? That's a really big price gap, especially for only one class. Would you happen to know if the bundle includes online videos? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  2 года назад +2

      Hi! NONo!!! The $500 classes are actually LIVE online full year courses that are taught live by Dr. Scott Hardin. For the video lessons, which is what we do, they vary in price from about $45-$100 depending on the course.

      @@erica_arndt Thank you so much for answering me so quickly! No one has EVER done that, lol! I was almost sure the videos were included, but I got a little scared when I saw the online classes. I really enjoy your videos. I've been using Abeka streaming for some years, but the kids are getting bored so I decided to shake things up a bit. Thank you for sharing your experience. It's been quite a blessing!

    Are you glad you strayed from your typical science for middle school? I know most do general science for 7th and physical for 8th. I feel like I should follow that path. This really intrigues me though. I am also considering doing Science Shepherd Physical science for 7th but don’t know if it’ll be too easy? Do you think astronomy level b is appropriate for 7th?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  2 года назад

      Yes! We tend to go more traditional for high school because I want them to be college ready. So I think having more fun in middle school is a great idea! The curriculum is still very informative and thorough so I don't feel like we missed out on anything.

    Great video! About how long does it take to complete each lesson including the video?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  2 года назад +1

      Hi, the lessons vary in length, but the videos are about 10 minutes each, plus the workbook and maybe an activity, so it's about 15-30/day min by the time she is finished.

    Thank you so much for reviewing this. I have looked at so many different curricula trying to find something that will engage my student. My only concern and I guess question is how much religious content is involved as the sample videos have no mention of this element?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  2 года назад +3

      It is absolutely written from a Christian point of view and discusses God as creator quite frequently

    Is there a lesson plan for moms to follow?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  2 года назад +1

      It's not exactly a lesson plan, it's the answer key, and the kids just follow the lessons as they go through the videos. I don't really need a lesson plan, but when I add these to my daily checklist for my student, I just log in to her account and assign the lessons that way.
