That was a great review of the Reflex 14MT. A little pricey, but from what you have shown us on this channel it is a little Demond. To take the jumps and land not so perfect and continue to keep going is a testament of how well made it is. I would have a terrible time trying to get the body clips off (pliers) LOL. Thanks for the information Ready Set truly appreciate all that you put into your reviews. Take care and stay safe.👌👌👍👍💯
@sparetimerc Always appreciate you stopping by, watching the vids and leaving an insightful comment. It's the best part of the hobby! This little truck truly shocked me. I was looking for a carbon copy of the 14B. Whole new experience.
Great review brother, these tiny trucks are a blast especially in brushless, those tiny pins are a pain to deal with without pulls, I always end up putting them on mine. Time for everyone to clipless, I'm talking to you kyosho! 😂 I agree with you these are far better than the Chinese stuff especially because of parts availability and support. Awesome video my friend! 💯 🤜 🤛
@@ReadySetRCyeah man I know you've heard me rant about it a dozen times lol it makes me sad that they put so much time and energy making such beautifully detailed bodies then ruin them with posts and clips, honestly I would have probably bought every one of the classic muscle car series if it wasn't for those clips. I just couldn't bring myself to do it as long as they keep doing it.. It's just so unnecessary these days with magnets, plastic clips, velcro or even clipped from below.
Pro tip: take the smallest zip ties you own; and tie a small loop around your body pins. 1. It’s easier to pull them out: 2 easier to find them when they fall out .
@@ReadySetRC Nice..You should also check out the hyper go 14th scale truggy if you haven't already.. Metal chassis long can brushless set up and T2T brace
I get the comparison and money talks. On the other hand, the grom is a complete new design with some great solutions and durability and practicality in mind. Taking the diffs apart is a breeze for instance. No other rc is so easy to work on. But yeah, that little Associated is awesome nonetheless.
@woutervanwijk4369 I took the Grom out and I'm actually happy with leaving it stock, but I know most folks are not like me and going to want to throw 12s in this and all the hop ups and after they do all this work it's well over what the 14MT is selling for stock. Just trying to show some folks there are other stuff out there that don't begin with Tra or Arm😊
Nah no 12s for the Grom. I decided on a simple 30a brushless hobbywing combo. But my point was that most small scale trucks are built exactly the same. Arrma built this one from the ground up and thought of some clever ways to make maintenance easier. I dig that. Just two different kinds of screws and all 2mm hex hardware help a lot too.
@xeff3280 I'm not affiliated with TA at all, I would suggest going to their site for any specifications you are looking for. Off-road if I had to guess it felt like 20 mph maybe a little more.
I'd instead get the MT 10 for 339.00. Personally, I'd put that couple hundred towards larger-scale RC's, so for me, the price point is too high. I own 1/7 and 1/5 scale RC's so I'm not afraid to spend my hard-earned money, i just dont see the value in a 220.00 1/18 scale RC.
Trucks more like 18th scale drive line is full of plastic parts tiny motor that runs super hot. Servo failed on me in a week with the crappy plastic gears it has then the ESC went on it. Not worth the money to me. Took the beating and sold it for a 100 bucks. Was not impressed at all with this truck.
@markschwing3850 Sorry to reach that. Unlike the other 14 line RC's for TA this one seems to have missed the QA process but I'm positive TA will get that sorted out.
So ummm wheres the run video. All a brushless system adds is more broken parts. I love my grom. I have MJX's suposid grom killer witch is brushless. I think its the 14203? Looks like the grom. Anyhow. Guess what? Esc, and recever. Runs on 2s. Guess what? Its faster than a grom! Remember opinions are like butt holes. Everyones got one! A brushless system doesent make it better. Just faster to break parts from bashing. True im not into bashing. I dont break stuff. You drive , crash, break, rebuild, and repeat. Show it running
@jerryhermann7233 First off, I don't recall you commenting on videos before, welcome to the channel. I do playlist for my videos. Makes it easier for viewers to find all the videos on any particular RC. If you have the time, please feel free to watch the playlist. Not sure I'm understanding your comments. If your comments is that I feel a brushless system is better, I think you missed my point. My point is very clear, if a user is planning on taking the Grom brushless and you know they will, actually there are several video's on RUclips and IG that have done just that, users may want to look at other options. I used the Reflex as an example because folks say it's pricey. But when you add up all the parts to take a Grom brushless you actually will go well over the price of the 14MT. Lastly, I have a playlist of the Grom too, I clearly state there is no need to run out a throw a brushless system in the Grom immediately. Once again, welcome to the channel and hope this clears this up.

@riffraffsrc Thank you brother! Kyosho really needs to step up, they are really ruining those beautiful bodies.

I took my body pins for these and bent them up a little so they were easier to grab and remove.

@urgaynknowit Oh I know but it's time for TA to start supplying them at this price point. If the Amazon specials can do it, TA should be able to😊
Really is a great truck!
@GreatLakesRC Right!
Plus the Reflex is bigger yea? 14th scale vs 18th scale
@philthyco1 Yeah, if you want brushless OTB, it's a really good option.

How much does this weigh and what do you think the top speed is?

@spenn2007 IMO $199.99 would be a good price. But I love these smaller more capable RC's, I'm old, it's easier on my back😆

The truck isn't that great that's reality. Has nothing to do with QA.
