LOL, this guy is the opposite of the "cool uncle", he's the "most annoying" uncle 😅 (we have one in our family too, we enjoy his company, but can't wait for him to leave)

It just didn't work with children, you can.see they were recruited for over the top ,annoying personalities.
It's different. Enjoyability is dependent on your tolerance for kids being kids.
Of course their personalities play a large part - as with the adult version!
