    it's not easy to get to the finals and to become a champion but lee zii jia managed to make a big surprise by controlling the pressure well in front of thousands of home fans and shocking host players who were also the first choice of the semifinals tournament and he managed to beat more experienced players at In the 20th year he is still a long journey he needs to go through to become like Lee Chong Wei

    Awesome LZJ, good composure and mentality. Hopefully this championship can guide him for a bigger success. we used to watch LCW playing and we know he has a lot of work to do, but he is in early 20 and this is a good win for him and his confidence. Stay fit and train hard :)

    Alright guys just to make it clear... just because LZJ has a Lee in his name does not mean he could be the next Lee Chong Wei. His play style is to different, so stop comparing him to Chong Wei.
    He is a young player, playing in an Era where there are much more talent than there was in Lin Dan and Chong Wei's Era. If you look at the BWF world rankings, there is always someone new that pops up in the No.1 spot every year. For Example: Kento Momota, Zhi Yuqi, Axelson, Kidambi and more. In Chong Wei's Era it took around 3 to 4 years before Chen Long came along and he was the only one who was able to challenge the two greats at the time.
    LZJ needs time, remember Chong Wei only started winning big games at the age of 23. Youth doesn't always guarantee a win against a far more experienced player.
    In my belief LZJ has great potential, and the only thing he needs now is time to grow into it. I pray that one day he is able to stand on the same pedestal as being one the great badminton players of Malaysia, and maybe even become world No. 1

    praktis setiap hari agar skil cross court smash benar2 dikuasai dengan bagus oleh Lee Zii Jia ..

    3rd set tu bukan sepatutnya point jadi 21-12 ke. sebab yang masa lzj challenged but was unsuccessful, umpire x ubah pun point Takeshita and the fact takde sorang pun perasan even his coach pun. but nevertheless, aku suka tgk lzj masa ni..calm and collected. walaupun WR dia 60 masa ni tapi mental dia kuat even masa lawan CTC time semi pun dia tak nampak nervous. lagipun nothing to lose right. hope lee zii jia dapat buat another comeback in 2022. you can do it capt!

      Alvin Kam let the kid play his badminton lol, i know you mean well but he is only 20 and to pick apart his game by using these broad terms with no specificity does nothing.

    • @alfthealien
      @alfthealien 5 лет назад +4

      Haha. Ok let me be a bit more specific. Firstly I think there needs to be a some refinement to his forehand, his elbow needs to be higher and closer to his head, upper arm is too horizontal. That's why the forehand seems quite unorthodox, leverage is wasted. His smash placement is also still less than ideal, not close enough to the lines. Lastly he plays the overhead reverse slice a bit too often, every time the shuttle goes to round his head backhand, half of the time he will do a reverse slice. It's a stroke that should be used more sparingly. Generally as a 20-year old his court speed is too slow la. Ginting is only one year older but miles ahead of him. Antonsen is also better than him.

      @@shika4730 Yes but I started a bit late so I'm familiar with a lot of typical mistakes as I've made them myself and understand from experience why they shouldn't be this way. Another Malaysian player which I hope can change a bit is Lai Pei Jing. Observe how her racket head is pointing down most of the time when she is at the front. This will waste at least 0.2 to 0.3 secs when she move the racket head up, that's why she can't intercept a lot of shots that should be hers. Just a small change in habit and she could be so much more effective. So wasteful of her talent. If she continues like this, she and her partner will find it very hard to move up.
