I hit the "my story sucks" stage probably once a week. It's actually a cycle in creativity. Any time you push yourself to do something long term, you'll go through this cycle of "This is great," "This is terrible" and "No thoughts, just diligently working". It's actually been studied and these are actual emotions most people (from creatives to athletes) go through over and over no matter what stage of their career they are at. Even an NBA winning player will go "I'm doing amazing" then alternate to "I'm terrible and should quit" and then have a bunch of random days where they are grinding and not thinking they are good or bad and just getting the work done throughout the season. It's really fascinating. Anyway, once you realize this is just psychological loop, you stop panicking when you're at the, "This is terrible. I'm terrible. Everything sucks. I should quit" stage. :D
