My wife was diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy and they admitted him to hospital and gave methotrexate injection first time his HCG level was 4000 on 12-10-2022 before injection but today HCG level is 124 is it gud sign that methotrexate is working

day one it’s 4000 , then at day 4 u can have a slight increase . but by day 7 you should have at least or more than 15% decrease in initial hcg levels

methotrexate is a single dose injection - 50 mg . if her hcg hasn’t not fallen below 15% on day 7 then that’s failure of medical management .. we might need to go for surgical management like salphingectomy .

Sir , IUCD that secrete progesterone and caused tubal contraction so there is most chances of occurrence of ectopic pregnancy.
But I not understand that how failure of contraceptive causes ectopic pregnancy ?

When the contraceptive failed to stop pregnancy fertilization happened (contraceptive failure) and because this contraceptive still present and it secret progesterone (which decrease contraction ) the fertilized ova won't move from fallopian tube that's why ectopic pregnancy happened
