Use the wire baskets for rolled up washcloths in your next house guest bathroom 😊 I've moved so many times and it's so easy to just get rid of things that feel like clutter at the moment but I've also learned to not get rifmd of things before the next house is unpacked and lived in because alot of the last house clutter can be repurposed for something else .. just an idea 😊

I know that I may seem strange, but I actually LOVE moving. I grew up as a “military brat” which meant we had to move from Air base to Air base every 3 years. When our posting notice came down, my mom made us do a purge of our bedrooms, so we whittled down stuff every 3 years. Once I moved out, I may not have moved as often, but I do find that every time I’ve moved it has been such a relief to be able to “declutter” my life and start fresh in a new location. Unfortunately, I haven’t moved in at least 6 yrs, so things are really starting to clutter up and I’m feeling stressed. This video has given me the motivation to start my overdue declutter this coming weekend! Cheers!

In the process of closing on my first home, June 30th is our closing date!! So excited! Haven’t started packing anything yet, I’m a procrastinator 🥲 we’re also here until the end of July and have a few things like painting at the house to do before we actually move in!
There are card organizer kits on Amazon! I am super sentimental too, and I didn’t want to get rid of mine, so I got the kits and they’re a GREAT storage idea!
The articles of clothing that you left out to wear at 22:07, is the exact amount of clothes I have on my entire side of my closet!! I am also a minimalist and don’t need many clothes because I’m good with wearing the same few outfits daily.
Nooo Mindy. Please keep all the cards. Get a binder and put them in sleeves to save space! I felt the same way at one time and regretted it later in life once family started passing and all the things. Love you ❤❤

I know what it's like when it comes to clothes- do I still need it, do I still like it, can I see myself wearing it again- so I do constant changing of the clothes throughout the year. I love the A New Day brand at Target, because I can see myself wearing them often.
I used to work for West-ward Pharmaceutical Inc. and they told us that by law they have to put a "sell by date" or "use by date" because of the FDA .. and they require it but all medicine is good after the expiration date for a year.
I’m hate clutter. Love organization. I’m also sentimental like you. I’d keep greeting cards from loved ones before multiple makeup products. Try putting the cards in a photo album with clear pages (sleeves). That way you can enjoy them.
I use makeup organizers with the drawers to put things under my sink and extra things I use all the time (feminine things, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, soap, hair scrunchies and clips, etc). They are good for holding other things and not just makeup. I also use a crate for my boots. When you are moving your clothes put trash bags over groups of hangers so the opening is at the bottom. (Put the hanger part through a hole). That could be easier than folding everything.
Sold our house in June. Our closing date looks like it's at the end of July. Before putting on the market we decluttered almost 70% of our stuff, packed what we wouldn't need for awhile, staged the home with what we had, listed the house and it sold in two days. So now getting weeks away from closing date we are packing up almost everything else except things we will need for a couple weeks and a fee toys. We also taped out a couple sizes a uhaul would be and pre-stack what's already planned so we know exactly how big of a uhaul we may need. So I really appreciate these packing videos to listen to while I tackle cleaning and packing the last bit. It's definitely getting more emotional the less thats left to pack. Yet, we excited to relocate to a new state and start new adventures with our four kids :)
My mom is a nurse and she has always told me that expo dates on medicine doesn’t mean anything, but they could be less potent. Totally safe though! I know she still uses 15 year old Xanax 😅
We are in the beginning stages of building a house. We bought 4.5 acres of land. My husband is awesome and is the one designing the house. I told him what I wanted and he is bringing it to life. We are supposed to break ground in August and hopefully will be in our house by the end of the year. I have already started purging, my motto if I haven't used it by now or in the last year I will just get rid of it. Good luck to you in your move!

We have moved 8 times in 14 years. 3 of those moves were cross country. Our most recently move was a year ago. We always do a heavy purge when we move. We are currently renting so there is another move in our future when we purchase a house, probably next year, but that move will be local.
Over the weekend, my husband and I de-cluttered our entire closest and ended up with 5 garbage bags of things to donate. It was the most satisfying feeling! You realize the things you really need vs having too much unnecessary things. Little by little we want to live more minimally.

We moved February 1st and it was awful. I was sore for 2.5 weeks. We did move from a 1500 sf 2 story to a 1560 sf single story . We don't miss the stairs. We donated 2 car fulls and 2 truck beds full of stuff. And had a yard sale.
I wear the same tee shirts and l absolutely love them,l have them in all colors. Best of luck in packing,l did it 2 years ago and it was amazing how much l got rid of.😊
we are moving from WA state to colorado springs at the end of July! Packing along with you! also, we began our decluttrring about 10/11 year ago when we moved from a 5 acre country home to CO. We had 5 sheds stuffed with personal l belongings and my husbands families things accumulated over the years! I can say that present day we are so light and minimal! Peacock has a great show called “the gentle art of swedish death cleaning” and it is so helpful if one is trying to go intentional and minimal with their belongings! happy packing!

I even purged more when we moved in because we didn’t have enough space, so if it didn’t fit then it was donated. They always have a sale and the sizes are pretty consistent. Look at the modal scoop neck and the ruched front. And of course they always have their basics. J. Crew and Madewell are good options, too.
Old Navy has “luxe” fabric tshirts. They are fitted while also sort of a silky soft material. I think they are very flattering and I normally don’t like fitted shirts lol
Funny...I'm literally cleaning out everything....closets, cabinets....I cant wait to get rid of it. Dont throw out cards. My mom took all my cards from birth to adulthood and put them in an album. Im 52 and they are really special to look at...

Thanks for sharing your video today, it was great! This helped me to get off my butt and start decluttering too. We aren't moving..thank goodness but l have gotten great ideas from watching you. I think you can find a way to keep sentimental cards by filing them by name, folders, albums. You may regret getting rid of them later. Love the tee's, they look great on you!😊
Oh man! I wish I could've bought that vanity off of ya! Still searching for a good one. As for medications, I read a study the military did on the effectiveness of medicines after expiration and they found that Medicine was still 90% effective ten years after the expiration date. Nothing bad happens, it just might not be as effective.
I havent moved in 25 yrs. I hate the packing process but love the unpacking part. Getting settled in a new place was always fun. Good luck with your move it sounds exciting. Just wondering do you get to have a pool at your new place? :)
Get some nice wicker baskets for all the meds. I have my meds in a cabinet in the kitchen. I wouldn’t ever keep that stuff in my personal bedroom. It’s easier access for all my family members when it’s in baskets in a central location. I have a small basket for daily things like vitamins, allergy meds. I have a separate basket for the “teens” which has an inhaler, pills for cramping, thermometer, Pepto Bismol drops that we have always called “pink drops.” Then I have a bigger basket on a higher shelf that’s for the non-daily meds but they are items that we do use and need such as cold meds, sinus meds, extra inhalers, cough drops, etc. so no one can see these bottles with the naked eye due to them being in the wicker baskets. Just very aesthetically pleasing when the cabinet is opened.
We are currently moving as well! It’s so exciting to see someone else moving at the same time! Like we will do something and then you do it so it’s like we are on the same time line! We close on Thursday as long as closing doesn’t get pushed back anymore and get to move on Saturday! We wanted a new fresh start so got rid of almost everything and bought new! We also packed almost everything into zip lock bags too! 😂
Mindy I’m going through the moving process with you also. We’re moving on 4th of July from a 3 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment so we are downsizing and getting rid of so much stuff. It’s so nerve wracking.
if you need to save space.. vacuum seal bags! life saver. my favourite storage / moving product. also, decluttering prior to moving feels SO good. and saves moving soo many unnecessary items!!
I love cleaning and organizing but definitely don't like moving. I've moved and helped people move too many times lol I've been working on my aunt's house all weekend.
I moved in July last year I did a room a day it was sooo fun put aside what I didn't want to bring and kept what I wanted to bring I loved it! Stressful putting everything in the new place but was fun 😂
I’m here to with moving 🤪🤪. We are moving from Arkansas to Illinois with my 90 year old mother who had a stroke 3 years ago. We have almost a 30 gap between closings so packing to go to air bb for awhile. Not sure I will make it through this. A moving company is packing us out and moving. But we will have something’s they don’t move in u haul and all plants probably 40-50 in and outside ones going in a trailer to my daughters. So a lot of moving parts when people move. 🤪🤪🤪.

I was amazed how much stuff was packed away in closets. I was excited to find my lunch box that I used in elementary school!!! My momma had kept it for me all these years. So many memories to go through and pack, and yes. things to throw away. You don't realize how much stuff you have, until you move. I hope all goes well with your packing and the move!!! Funny...I'm literally cleaning out everything....closets, cabinets....I cant wait to get rid of it. Dont throw out cards. My mom took all my cards from birth to adulthood and put them in an album. Im 52 and they are really special to look at...

Thanks for sharing your video today, it was great! This helped me to get off my butt and start decluttering too. We aren't moving..thank goodness but l have gotten great ideas from watching you. I think you can find a way to keep sentimental cards by filing them by name, folders, albums. You may regret getting rid of them later. Love the tee's, they look great on you!😊
Oh man! I wish I could've bought that vanity off of ya! Still searching for a good one. As for medications, I read a study the military did on the effectiveness of medicines after expiration and they found that Medicine was still 90% effective ten years after the expiration date. Nothing bad happens, it just might not be as effective.
I havent moved in 25 yrs. I hate the packing process but love the unpacking part. Getting settled in a new place was always fun. Good luck with your move it sounds exciting. Just wondering do you get to have a pool at your new place? :)

Get some nice wicker baskets for all the meds.
I have my meds in a cabinet in the kitchen.
I wouldn’t ever keep that stuff in my personal bedroom.
It’s easier access for all my family members when it’s in baskets in a central location.
I have a small basket for daily things like vitamins, allergy meds.
I have a separate basket for the “teens” which has an inhaler, pills for cramping, thermometer, Pepto Bismol drops that we have always called “pink drops.”
Then I have a bigger basket on a higher shelf that’s for the non-daily meds but they are items that we do use and need such as cold meds, sinus meds, extra inhalers, cough drops, etc.
so no one can see these bottles with the naked eye due to them being in the wicker baskets.
Just very aesthetically pleasing when the cabinet is opened.

We are currently moving as well! It’s so exciting to see someone else moving at the same time! Like we will do something and then you do it so it’s like we are on the same time line! We close on Thursday as long as closing doesn’t get pushed back anymore and get to move on Saturday! We wanted a new fresh start so got rid of almost everything and bought new! We also packed almost everything into zip lock bags too! 😂

Mindy I’m going through the moving process with you also. We’re moving on 4th of July from a 3 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment so we are downsizing and getting rid of so much stuff. It’s so nerve wracking.
Same. We are moving the same weekend. From a 4 bed 2 bath to a 2 bed 1 bath. Way smaller. And it's 3 hrs away from where we currently live.

also, decluttering prior to moving feels SO good. and saves moving soo many unnecessary items!!

I love cleaning and organizing but definitely don't like moving. I've moved and helped people move too many times lol I've been working on my aunt's house all weekend.
I moved in July last year I did a room a day it was sooo fun put aside what I didn't want to bring and kept what I wanted to bring I loved it! Stressful putting everything in the new place but was fun 😂

I’m here to with moving 🤪🤪. We are moving from Arkansas to Illinois with my 90 year old mother who had a stroke 3 years ago. We have almost a 30 gap between closings so packing to go to air bb for awhile. Not sure I will make it through this. A moving company is packing us out and moving. But we will have something’s they don’t move in u haul and all plants probably 40-50 in and outside ones going in a trailer to my daughters. So a lot of moving parts when people move. 🤪🤪🤪.
I would have used the baskets for the wash clothes.

kept it for me all these years. So many memories to go through and pack, and yes.
things to throw away. You don't realize how much stuff you have, until you move.
