    Special thanks to our Patreons for their support of the channel! Thoughts on the new Santa Fe?

      Thanks for sharing, I have few videos of the SE and SELs on my channel as well. The rear looks much better in the calligraphy. Is the rear really that odd looking in person?

    I absolutely love the new Hyundai Santa DeFender! The white color is the way I will spec it out. It really pops with the black accents and tints.

    Very informative well done video. I bought the 2024 hybrid model SEL yesterday at Hyundai of New Port Richey (FL). Lots of technology and features. Wish they would have kept the old school style shifter. Going to take time to get use to the new way! 😊

    As of 3/9/2024, I just purchased the 2024 SEL model. The only thing you may notice is the lack of the sunroof. Yet who ever uses that feature anyway!! lol. This vehicle feels and drives like a limousine. Skip the black interior, for certain, and choose the grey, which is actually a much lighter color, It makes the interior appear to be much larger and cleaner. the horsepower is outstanding. They did a great job with the fit and finish!

    I love this! I would do an army green hybrid calligraphy with tan interior. And then swap out the wheels for the XRT off road tires. Too bad we don’t get the massage seat in the US. I would trade the finger print reader and UV light cleaner for fog likes and the massage seats.

    This is a really nice SUV. Reminds me of the wow factor when I first saw the Telluride. Matter of fact, I may trade my Telluride in for this!

    As a personal preference, I wish that the Santa Fe had fog lights because it helps the driver to see the road at night when making left and right hand turns, especially left hand turns.
    IOW, it's a safety factor, especially when driving narrow country roads at night vs. interstate highways.

    Nice review! I think you are the first one that mention about the mpg for the hybrid model. Can you confirm that the hybrid AWD will get 36 mpg combined?

    • @dwnshft
      @dwnshft  7 месяцев назад +3

      It’s not officially confirmed by Hyundai but that’s the consistent educated estimates, that mid-30s ballpark

    • @tmac2705
      @tmac2705 7 месяцев назад +1

      You can go to the Korean website, and use Google translate to figure out the mpg of the hybrid estimates (it’s in km/l so you have to convert). I did this a a couple of months ago and I believe it was 35mpg combined

    The car looks amazing. My concern is the reliability. Has anyone had a previous Hyundai for several years with the same engine as the Santa Fe? I’ve heard horror stories about the engine replacements in previous years.

    • @Mark75yt
      @Mark75yt 7 месяцев назад +2

      I drive a 2015 Santa Fe, it’s done really well through the years, it has been nothing but reliable and it has around 87k miles, so it just depends on how well you maintain it, keep up with oil changes and all that stuff

    You mentioned towing capacity. Where is the hitch located?

  • @jameslester4474
    @jameslester4474 7 месяцев назад

    Numerous things you mentioned, but most all of them are Only on the Calligraphy Trim. Like the Duel Wireless Phone chargers, all other trims only have ONE ! Hyundai said over and over the New 2024 Santa Fe would be available in 4, 5 or 7 seat configuration, I asked several times and have their answers in writing. However in the US we Only Get the 7 seat model, there is No model that won't have the third row. Sad, I don't want or need that tiny third row, I like the under floor storage of my 2022 in the back. And while I'm on the 2022 vers 2024, My Hybrid Limited tow capacity is 2000 lbs, the 2024 is down to 1500 lbs, that's virtually useless !
    I see under the hood of your Hybrid, they did the same dumb thing putting the Hybrid Inverter Coolant reservoir, right above all the High Voltage connectors and the Inverter. When Hyundai had to change my coolant out ( Recall ) they dumped coolant all over the connectors. I didn't get far from the service center when the SUV Lurched, and threw all kinds of codes, coasting to a stop. Had to have it towed back for clean up and more work ( two days) before It would run again.
    I love the new shape, but the mandatory third row is a total waste for me, If I wanted three rows, I would have bought a Palisade. Plus having a fantastic warranty that you can't get any competent service done when it's needed is a waste and a Lie. Had to have my 2022 worked on twice, by two different dealerships, and neither did me good ! This looks to have the Exact same Hybrid system with worse numbers for mileage, and towing, probably because the 2024 is heavier.
    My wanting to trade up to the 2024 , has now ended.
    The Price differences because Hyundai Broke out All wheel Drive, which I have, and now Front Wheel Drive, and adding a Calligraphy Model, which mine has most of the Calligraphy Trim things now, and it's a Limited, the highest trim available for 2022 , so the price increase for the two years when loaded the same as what I have now is 8 K more today for the 24. Just not worth the extra $ ...

    • @kylehankins3434
      @kylehankins3434 7 месяцев назад

      Same money? Santa Fe starts at 34k USD and the new Land Cruiser, per the Toyota Website, states it starts at the mid 50's. That is a 20k difference in price. The maxed out Caligraphy Santa Fe is almost 10k cheaper than the bare bones base Land Cruiser.
