That's LIVE singing! You hear her breath, you hear her changing registers, she sings a little flat throughout the performance but she is killing it! That's what a live performance should be! So refreshing after so many of SM's prerecorded heavily edited vocal performances!!! Good job, Wendy!
I wouldn't say flat throughout the performance, but I definitely feel you with the live singing being refreshing even with some parts not being perfect. I prefer raw vocals. She was messing with her earpiece, so I wonder if she wasn't quite hearing herself well. She still sounded amazing though.

We listen to music to listen to people's stories and emotions, and that's exactly what excellent singers like Wendy provide through their singing. Wendy did phenomenal here. It was a great performance. There's a long comment thread on RV's Killing Voice youtube video debating whether their Killing Voice video is autotuned, which it so blatantly and distastefully is. So sad that "live" singing is almost all but gone in the mainstream Korean music industry.

as soon as the drum got in, the tempo is getting slightly faster, this proves Wendy's technique is no joke. with faster tempo and this song, it is hard to manage your breath in high notes. she's incredible.

She went flat a few times ngl -- e.g. 1:44 (maybe due to reception interference) 3:15 -- but you couldn't really tell because she picked up really well, and even when she did she still sounded BETTER than the rest of Kpop combined. Indeed, a talented singer and, more importantly, one who keeps working to improve her skills. SLSL was her first solo festival appearance, and I'm looking forward to her having more singing gigs.
