I really would love to see Capcom make MHS3, because I feel like there's more to the series.
If they made a stories 3, they should add underwater exploration and combat
Yes, I really want this to do well so Capcom makes a Stories 3. All I'd ask is being able to choose your main partner from several different flagship monsters instead of just being Rathalos again

I preordered it today so I can play first thing tomorrow! I'm so excited, I put hundreds of hours in the game on my 3DS and I'm so happy we're getting the 2.0 DLC we never got before. I also have an early ending to work tomorrow, so it works even better!
I'm also looking forward to getting to customize elements on my monsties again.

The Gene Placement is the original so the grind is real! Wish they would have updated it to the superior 2 because honestly the genes is what ruined 1 a lot for me! Find one with all 3x3, then skills, then find the moves and skills you want in the position you want! IT WAS PAIN! 1 my entire team had FIRE and THUNDER BITE as place holders because the amount of Khezu and Rathians I had to grind! My first Jinouga was 3x3 unlocked fully and st the end was my only 3x3 FULL BINGO! I just pray RNG us favorable to me!
It really does drag down the first game. I haven't gone back to my last playthrough in like a year cause I just can't get the last gene or two I need for my Stygian Zingore to finish making it my Elder Dragon Killer. The grind is just horrible.
In the original game's files seltas, tetsucabra, rhenoplos, giaprey, giadrome, shogun ceanataur, plesioth, green plesioth, furious rajang and duramboros all had icons. The plesioths and duramboros even had genes that went unused. Would've been nice to have them add them in this time around, but the remaster is lovely
Pls. Pls Capcom, I’ve bought and played MHS1 on 3DS, my Samsung tablet and switch, happily. And happily dumped another couple hundred into MHS2….. please give us MHS3. There is more than enough story and game and players for it. While I love the mainline series too, I just LOVE Stories and enjoy it so much more. I am so happy to playthrough it again but I truly need a Stories 3.
Big Question: Do the gene placements work like the original or 2? Cause in the original, the gene you take from a monster had to be placed in the exact same spot it was in the monster you want to have it (ie: if it was in the middle, it HAS to go in the middle). Imagine hunting the same eggs over and over again looking not only for a skill, but a skill that aligns with your monstie's setup.

Does anyone have word on the framerate for Monster Hunter Stories 2 on PS5? Does it get the same 60fps boost as the first game?
Ao glad they released this new version with everything & brought to modern systems plus remastered! I smashed the 3ds version & tried emulating it which is an absolute pain in the ass, also bought the android version but hated the touch controls only. This on my steam deck is a dream come true! Even both 1 & 2 now verified status on deck! Cant wait for a 3rd title!

I beat this game twice on mobile, and am doing my first playthrough of the new port, and I still only vaguely understand the gene stuff. I just wanna hurry through so I can move on to the second game cause the gene stuff is SO much simpler to do in 2.
Are all the Collab monsters from the ds like epona and the puzzles and dragon monster still in?
I heard all the DLCs returned except for the Zelda one

Didn't realize we get the hairstyles etc. from the monhun stories characters xD Now I know why one of the eyes reminded me of cheval. I will get the remake/remastered and see for myself if i like it or not :)
With this game and the 2nd releasing around the same time, at least on PS5 they are, which game would you recommend to someone who's never played the MH Stories games before? I was leaning towards Stories 2 on the assumption that a sequel is probably more evolved and has more to offer but I don't know if that's actually true.
As someone who's poured hundreds of hours into both, definitely get Stories 2 if you have to choose one. Stories 2 is essentially better in every feasible way and it was designed so that you don't need to play the first game to understand the second.
yeah of course the elemental system is still the best on 1 rather than 2...
but less monstie, less weapons tree, no co-op, even if we do get the dlc, its still less
so im just waiting MHS3, with both of those worlds, the elemental system of 1, and the content of 2
Yeah I was at least hoping we'd get at least SOME "new" monsters to ride. Like fishing up plesioth egg pieces to make a plesioth egg or having daimyo hermitaur finally be rideable
I really liked the second one, so perhaps giving the first one a-go isn't a bad idea. My husband said the first one was better too!

My only problem with Stories is when you try to farm eggs but the game only tells you when you are full when you try to pick up a new egg in a nest.

I believe you can check how many eggs you have to avoid that
Literally just open the menu and look at the top right. It shows how many out of 12 you currently have

Mh stories 2 was so unpleasant that it became the last stories game I would ever play lol.
