I think you should test time until it stops bouncing. There would be a lot more variables, like obstacles and texture of the bouncing surface, but if you do it multiple times and average it out, I bet it’d be more accurate. There’s a lot more to bounciness level and quality than only the first bounce.

Air resistance is a big factor, so I feel this bounciness test isn’t very accurate because golf balls are made with aerodynamics in mind. You should do another test but use a photo gate or velocity measuring device.

The moon ball has little indents. Larger indents will make it bounce higher because the air pressure in the pocket escapes faster I think. Try bouncing it at full force at the bigger indents.
