Mega effort! Congratulations! This year I participated and rode B strecke as well just to see if I can even finish it... it was the hardest race/ride I have ever done. Hats off to you ;) amazing
this year last 2 hours was hell for me too. But big respect to the late finishers, every year I go to the finish line and cheer on the last riders coming through. I cannot do stuff like that anymore.
My experience is with maxxis and continental xc tires, so limited. Depends if there is mud and if it is also cold. Fast maxxis rubber is not good at low tempratures, again ime. Conti Blackchili is much better in that. But for real grip in wet Conti Puregrip compound is best imo.
@@kaptanpedal Thank you for your answer. Did you manage the Salzberg yesterday without dismounting? I was in section C and here everyone was pushing with their feet in a row :( Slippery and no room....
@@satego101 yes, since 2015 I always rode the whole hell climb. Tires have much better grip than any shoe. This year I was feeling very good and had to pace myself. It all went downhill after that, pun intended.
@@kaptanpedal Oh I see... anyway it is unimportant in marathons and your efforts are very impressive either way... keep it up and good luck in your future races ;)
yes, Trophy is a very hard Gravel race for the modern standards. But as the saying goes: if you ride hard it becomes hard. Go faster and faster until it becomes very technical :)) I do the Trophy every year because of the atmosphere, organization and the weird aura of the whole thing. I cannot stop going :)) As a race it does not fit me at all. Too long for me, has long flat sections and climbs are not steep, except Salzberg Hell climb. But once you do it you are pulled back in.
tolle übersicht über die strecke, offenbar sogar den Salzberg durchgefahren, respekt und vielen dank für die motivation!

Was ein Niveau...😮 Super !! Gratulation!!!
Fantastic effort! Congrats!!
Irre Leistung, Hut ab! Darf man fragen welches Material/Setup du fährst (Hardtail/fully, Gewicht, Reifen/Reifenbreite/Reifendruck)?
Respekt, Respekt, Respekt!
Do you have different tires for dry and wet races and if which one you prefer for wet conditions?

@@kaptanpedal wow very impressive performance!
Starke Leistung!! Will mich 2024 auch an der B Strecke versuchen (bisher E, D und C Erfahrung 😊)
B ist ideal, nicht zu lang, nicht zu fast and furious
Which shoes do you have?
Shimano xc.
What powermeter are you using on your bike? Impressive max power
it is a Quarq. My max power sucks big time but thx.
@@kaptanpedal well... if 1622W sucks then I don't know :D
It must be an error. My sprint rately breaks 1000w.

Congrats, great result. It is a pity though that there is so lottle real mtb on salz

355w FTP bei 66 kg. Ich glaub ich spinne…. Wahnsinn!
Nice vid! I don't understand why are you risking your health for a race though.
Driving there and back was more dangerous
@@kaptanpedal Oh, sorry to hear that! Driving in Austria is usually chilly. I still prefer mtb, because if you have an accident, it was your fault.
