Makes me cry every time. She has such a heart felt voice when singing this song. You can really feel what she was signing and what Dorothy was feeling. Also makes me sad because that time period was so long ago.
If I ever get to meet P!nk, I'm going to give her a huge hug and thank her for this performance. She could have done what so many singers so, which is to turn it into an over-sung, overblown "diva" piece (and she has the pipes to manage it), but she didn't! She sang this very simple song very simply, and did Judy Garland proud. I love her dearly for this.

It wasn’t until she sang “why oh why can’t I” when the tears burst through the clouds and streamed down my face like a river through a valley that’s been waiting for the rains to come and bring life to the land. And what do we see when the rain has stopped and the clouds have cleared the sky???? 🌈

I’m shocked to find out that people questioned Pink’s singing abilities. Just because you are on the pop scene doesn’t mean you are not talented. Pink, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and many others have proven that they can handle challenging songs with high standards.
This was around the time I lost my beloved grandma due to complications of stomach surgery. Not only I was grieving so much over her loss cause I was very close to her but I was also going through a big life transition between me and a friend of mine who had her baby at the time and it made me feel unintentionally isolated and alone and depressed. So i had to cope and grieve 2 very different hardships at the same time. Anyway, my grandmother was the only grandparent whom I’ve ever known my whole life. My grandfather on my mom’s side died from cancer at the age of 44 so I never knew him and my grandparents on my dad’s side lived faraway and were divorced so we almost never get to visit them very often because of how far they lived from us. My grandpa passed away when I was 11 years old and my grandma passed away this year. When I first heard this song at the Oscar’s, it really made me fricken cry like a baby. It was a very beautiful rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow but what made it bittersweet for me was that my grandma on my mom’s side was not alive to hear this song. I think she would have loved that rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. RIP Grandma. I really missed her sooo much and I think about her often. 😥😥😥😥😥

Being a huge fan of both Judy Garland and 'The Wizard of Oz', I thought this performance was great (although a lot of other fans disagree). A wonderful tribute to a wonderful entertainer and a legendary film! Bravo, Pink!

Being a huge fan of both Judy Garland and 'The Wizard of Oz', I thought this performance was great (although a lot of other fans disagree). A wonderful tribute to a wonderful entertainer and a legendary film! Bravo, Pink!
