I've put an EQ Pedal on my board - why did I not try this before?

- I decided to try my Boss GE7 on my electric guitar board for the first time ever. I've owned the pedal for years as a clean boost for my acoustic guitar but it didn't occur to me to try it with electric. It's an amazingly versatile clean boost.

Wow! You just opened a whole new world by putting a graphic equaliser on your pedal board. Wonderful! Enjoy! Have fun! God bless
Yeah....only scratched the surface so far!
I forgot to mention you can have more than one graphic equaliser on your board experiment. Enjoy! Have fun! That's what it's all about. God bless
I did think that.....I've run out of space....but something might have to go!
just picked up a couple of these….great playing!
Thanks!
Been using eq pedals since the seventies...best boost going
I'm enjoying it so far!
Beautiful playing Tom and you have a great tone, your pedal board setup is very impressive!❤
Cheers Glenn!
The tubescreamer dry though does not compress like the drive element. The bigger input level you give it, the more prominent the clean the dry though gets.
Difficult to set a tubescreamer right for a LP and a Strat with the same settings. Those that do usually have the gain at very clise to zero.
Try a Halycon Green
It's strange how it doesn't seem to work like it used to ...... I didn't ever use it with the Les Paul or 335 (I didn't have them then!) so I'm just trying to use it in the way I used to.....I didn't ever notice the clean sound before.....but you may have answered the question as I have the EP booster in front too now. I have to adjust all the pedals when I switch from strat to LP......I enjoy the process.....as long as I get the sound eventually! I will try the TS again armed with this knowledge!
Glad to help. BTW the same thing can happen with the GE7 before a TS.
@@davidyelland908 Ah...interesting. I mainly used to use it either on its own or after the Blues driver.....which had the gain on about half so the "Clean" sound going into it was already driven. I've had it nearly 20 years and didn't know any of this.....thanks again!!
Funny. I too added an EQ pedal to my board a few weeks ago. It’s a Joyo that has faders with LEDs in them so I can see them on a dark stage. I use it for a completely differerent reason though. I use it to quickly shape my tone to the room we’re playing in.
Would you suggest it?
That's a good idea....I've had to put stickers on my Tyler strat as I can't see the fret markers! I didn't ever think that failing eyesight was going to impact my guitar playing!!
