I'm So Cute with Terry Bozzio singing and on drums was actually a sound check at a show because at the very end you hear laughter and I believe it's Bozzio saying "Did you just record that?" Makes it so much more epic to me.
Zappa enjoyed composing and songwriting it's like a true alchemist and chameleon of the music. He loved to mix different instruments in his songs and what about his lyrics full of irony with a satirical background. He really felt like he was at home, he always made you smile, a true genious of improvisation. He was awesome, thanks 👍😊👌
this is hands down, the most accessible zappa album, provided satire doesn't go right over your head. after all these years, this one is still my favorite.
Ya, Ya, Ya.... Great Album, lots of great tunes. Baby Snakes: Wow did Zappa hate the Music Exec's Fresh Flakes: Self explanatory... City Tiny Lights: Many great versions of that tune, this one is my fav. Jewish Princess: Zappa was sued by the Anti-Defamation League for that one. Used Catholic Girls to prove he did not single out Jewish folks. Yo Mama: Boy whoever he was singing about... poor guy...!
The song I'm so cute is longer...it cut off one minute early on this version... don't know why... but you should go find the full version... the ending is funny.
The first RYKO release has the shorter version. Frank put that out himself and it's another example of him botching his own releases. Same with the original CD release of You Are What You Is cutting off the entire guitar jamming at the end of Dumb All Over and splicing right into Heavenly Bank Account. Shameful work by Frank.
Flakes represented Franks disdain for stupidity and cheap labor. When he quoted the 3 letters destroyed american consumers, LSD and MBA, he was referring to hippies becoming yuppies, earning a business administration masters degree which teaches the art of profit making at the cheapest possible way, to reach profit margin goals anyway you can, even if it requires using the cheapest parts, working as fast as you can for the next cheap product to sell and ship to the consumer, yet, requiring a minimum brain capacity to accomplish the profit making schemes. Zappa always maintained that "quality is expensive".
"I Have Been In You" is satire of a song by Peter Frampton named 'I'm In You".
On the LP, the outro of ‘I’m so cute’ is longer, and the last thing you hear in the fade out, is Bozzio laughingly asking “Did you just record that?”

My First Zappa experience 40 years a go still listening to this day spliff in hand 👌
Fifty years plus ago. Otherwise, likewise!
The punky bit and I'm so Cute was Terry Bozzio on drums and singing.
Adrian Belew is doing the Dylan bit.
He did that for fun during a rehearsal and he ended up doing it live on stage 😀
Man From Utopia Album: NO ONE has done any tunes from it, and they are all HOT...!
It was so Punky Meadows. City of Tiny Lights coming up is amazing.
Zappa takes the stage and says to Lennon, "hold my beer"
My first Zappa album and I was hooked. City of tiny lights is my favorite.
"Broken Hearts Are For Assholes" is a masterpiece.
The album that got me started on my 37-year, and counting, Zappa journey.

The "I' have been in you" song is a mockery of Peter Frampton's album or song called: "I'm in You."
The sustain on Frank's guitar was amazing!
The thing with Zappa, if you have any idea it might be rude, it probably is!
I just keep saying;Frank could do ANYTHING, musically.

"I'm So Cute" is a take on Led Zeppelin. "I Have Been In You" is a take on Peter Frampton's "I'm In You". Fun facts
I'd rather say "I'm so cute" it's a take on the emerging punk wave.
He goes after everyone on this album.
Wrist watch Crisco 😂
Such a great album!
Cool I had got this album on 8 track tape lol
Flakes is such a great song! Leave it to Zappa to build such a fantastic crescendo into a silly song like that. Epic.
A Perfect Side
3 more perfect sides to go
I was waiting for your reaction to the "Poop Chute" bit haha.
Poor Rory....1st song got him squirming..lol
this is hilarious af

love it🎼😂
Shake Your Booty. Disco era
Don't think it's twigged yet.
I have often wonder what Frank would say to the woke culture of today who wanted to ban him?
Frank's greatest years = 75 - early 78.
Wanna buy some mandies Bob?

you do way too much zappa , a bunch of redundant crap . the first 3 Mothers albums were great , after that he went downhill ... just sayin
You’re wrong…just sayin
Perhaps it is because he has over 65 albums? most doubles.
If you don't like it, go listen to some Abba, just saying.🤐
