I don't know if you read thiese comments, but good job, i see you learned to burn prograde instead of normal direction.
Next tip: You can right click Minmus (or the Mun or any object) and select them as target. After that, the game will start to show your closest approach to them.
    So for an intercept:
1:you get into a low Kerbin orbit. Select Minmus as target. Doesn't matter where, make a manuver node, and in the prograde direction, make your planned orbit an ellipse, until you intercept Minmus's orbital hight. That should be between 900-950 dV in fuel.
2: You should see 2 orange and 2 purple dots on your and minmus's orbit. Focus on the same coloured dot ( so for example the orange one) . They are your closest intercept indicators, where the 2 object will be closest relative to each other, IF you burned the way you made the manuver node.
3: Grab your manuver node's middle, and pull it sideways, so you do the planned manuver when it's a better time. Move it, until your orange dots gets the closest to each other.
    4: Execute your burn.
5: If you see that your rocket is not going to intercept Minmus, make a new manuver node between kerbin and minmus, and try to force an intercept. If you did it right, this manuver shouldn't cost more than 50-100 dV
6: circulerise around the target. but i think you know that :)
Again, if you have any question please ask.

i got the feeling he wants to learn this on it's own :)
altough noone borns as rocket scientists, so learning from someone would be more optimal.
