Your reviews of books is SO helpful. For students like myself who are not anywhere near your level, to be able to see what you find interesting and useful, and then watch you play, is invaluable to any aspiring musician. Great educating as usual. Thank you Mikko!!!

The term woodshedding started when Charlie Parker went to the woodshed at the back of his house for some serious practice after an early humiliating experience with a band.

those "beginnings" practices with added chrom tone is much more difficult in practice...still if you just pick one favourite patern...after a while we will find out that doing just that we will get used to also pretty soon...maybe it is more about being aware of the possibilitie's that are there and being able to choose the most interesting ones...I admit that doing them all is usefull depending also what the level is you are...

Would you recommend this book for a bass guitar player that wants to improve their bass clef reading? I guess what I'm asking is does it have bass clef notation? I know I should be able to transpose but I want to also have bass clef for my beginner reading skills. Thanks, love the review!

This book uses treble clef. I don't think there is a treble clef version

I don't think about positions really. I just try to get from point A to B somehow. It's going to be different for every key. I try to find a way that makes sense
