I'm always searching, searching for something or someone, this feeling has possessed me ever since that day, the day when the stars came falling, it was almost as if, as if a scene from a dream, nothing more, Nothing less than a beautiful view
@Michael Da Lopez No, it probably means it figuratively where Mitsuha disappears from his memories or otherwise referring to the first "ending" in the film when the comet hit.
tbh, I'm not a big fan of romantic anime's but this one was different. I wonder if makoto shinkai really from earth or not. I mean, just look at his creations...
Just to see how differently this movie could've turned out... I wonder if there's a full movie version of just the storyboard, would be quite interesting.
I am absolutely appalled that this film was not even nominated at the 2017 Oscars for Best Animated Feature. Only after rewatching it and appreciating the Shinto themes and plot, I realized it's genius and a masterpiece. I enjoyed "The Place Promised in Our Early Days" but after watching this this became my favorite Shinkai film. I compared it with "Weathering with You" and IMO this film was way better. Albeit I saw some holes which baffled me like why Taki and Mitsuha didn't realize early on that their timelines were separated by 3 years, when they were writing their journals on their smartphones each time they switch bodies. They should have realized it from the start when checking their calendars. And the scene where Mitsuha's notes and journals got deleted automatically in front of Taki's eyes when they went to the Itomori crater site also confused me. Also, it also didn't make sense where Taki woke up at the rim of the crater when he got frustrated he forgot Mitsuha's name, he suddenly woke up in an alternate continuity where Mitsuha and the Itomori residents survived the comet impact. Otherwise, it's a great film. Although Shinkai himself felt that it was not perfect.
To think the first draft of this was super spoilery xD. If it were an anime series, the spoilery elements in the original draft would have been easily forgiven. But since it was a movie release, it was a wise decision to take off those elements. Especially the meteor and the running scene.
@demon slash yeah it's hand drawn but they probably use a software to actually draw it on and have a drawing tablet... They don't do pencil on paper drawing lmao. toom ho pagal
The director drawn all the storyboard, so he and his staff could know how should the film be made, how should it look like, how the camera angles should have placed,...
@@el-danihasbiarta1200 bukan animator sih sebenernya, lebih ke menyesuaikan drawing per framenya, sama makoto itu dia mainin banyak rotoscope sama real life potrait, jadi animator cuman nempatin hal2 di framenya aja lainnya kudu di pas in sama movement camera sama efect yang ngikutin musicnya juga
If it's look rough it doesn't mean it's drawn by people who are less experienced then those who draw originals that's kind of different thing here. These peoples are drawing storyboard that had to be put into move for an animators to understand them and those people who are drawing this kind of things are good. If you think your art look bad then you need to just ask people on (art) forums to make honest review or criticism of what can be done better or what do they think you should learn and this will help you. Let others say what your skills truly are but only those who have something to say because opinions like looks good and looks bad will not really help you to understand what you can improve and last thing drawing isn't something that you do occasionally if you really want to get at pro you just had to live the way of an artist meaning this had to be same as breathing for you a second nature but don't worry too much about it it's just everybody have a different way to look at things same goes for me, you and everybody around this world :)
Still, nothing has ever topped this movie opening for me

Wait what did I even wrote this?! I can't even understand it
@@14bqdonk that one Mitsuha dissappeared at the end

If you want more realistic movie with the same genre and author, try 5 centimeter per second.
Incluso 4 años después, esta película me sigue desvelando por este tipo de cosas :')
Literally the best anime opening in my opinion
The best anime movie ever

ゾクゾクする
The opening scene would've been a great trailer.
Thanks
2:01 Wow that would have made it so much sadder

I wish the song was longer than two minutes.
amazing movie
the storyboard being better than the anime film fr
君の名を今追いかけるよの所はどっちも好きすぎる
The footage itself looks like it also would have worked if _your name._ was a TV series instead of a film.
What animation software has been used to create this movie(Your name) ??
@demon slash yeah it's hand drawn but they probably use a software to actually draw it on and have a drawing tablet... They don't do pencil on paper drawing lmao. toom ho pagal
@demon slash yes after effects is DEFINITELY used in post processing among other things
Creo que en el story board makoto shinkai ya tenia planeado dejar al prota sin su waifu xdd
I love this anime so much It make me weak 😭
Este storyboard iba a dar otro tipo de inicio. a la película
pd: alguien sabe cual software para animación utilizaron para realizar la película?
exelente
I don't understand what the 'original storyline' is used for?

storyboard's are drawn by pros. Obviously they are better than you, they practiced wayyy more
