  • What do fall water temps mean for your bass fishing? well we are going to tell you. This is a condensed version of the fall video i put out last year. I just went back to watch it myself as fall is back in town, so i thought everyone else could benefit again from this information.
    Fall bass fishing can be tough but with these tips hopeful you can have more success bass fishing in the fall. The key is these fish are wanting to fatten up for the winter and we will tell you how to catch fall bass depending on the water temperature.     You said they need to fatten up for winter. That is a myth. Bass are cold blooded creatures. They do not store fat to keep warm as insulation or as fuel because they do not have to. In addition, they do not have a means to do it since they do not keep unsaturated fats but only saturated fats for short term body maintenance. Understanding fish biology will go a long way to understanding their behavior rather than perpetuating myths.
    Sometimes it may seem like they are fattening up for winter, but that may be due to shorter days and shorter feeding windows, less habitat with vegetation dying off causing them to school up, schools of bass chasing spawning minnows etc. Catch rates do not correlate into fattening up.
