Welcome to my FIRST WEEK OF MEDICAL SCHOOL VLOG !! AHHH I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS DAY IS FINALLY HERE!!! Sit down, pop open a snack, and enjoy the start of this new journey! This vlog will take you through my full orientation week at UCLA DGSOM (with a few assignments sprinkled in!) It was such a crazy week but I am so excited to start this journey and share it with you! :)

WELCOME QUEEN!!! So glad you're loving these vlogs! Would love to see you here at UCLA!! My stats were definitely not what got me into UCLA lol (3.4 GPA / 511 MCAT) but rather my extracurriculars and my potential to be a good physician shown through my interview! One thing I adore about UCLA is that they truly look at their applicants holistically. They recognize that stats are not the only aspect of an applicant that will determine whether or not they will make a good doctor. Stats for them is moreso to make sure you will do okay with the curriculum! I'll make a full video on my application cycle though!❤️

just switched to paperlike and i love it! i was using a cheaper alternative from amazon (which is linked in my amazon shop in the description). that one worked well and did actually feel like paper. it was a little rough though. the paperlike one is super smooth and provides a great writing resistance which i love and prefer! i asked them for a code for y’all if you wanted to try! paperlike.com/tae will automatically apply the code for free shipping! but it’s kinda pricey honestly. the amazon one is only $13 but it is lower quality! and definitely will make a video on my ipad and how i use it for planning/notes!❤️

Thank you so much!! Yes I’ve seen a few comments about that so I’ll definitely make a video on my notes once I get everything figured out lol. Short answer is I scribble on the lecture slides during lecture and after lecture, I go through the slides again and consolidate the information into notes/study sheets that I can study later! I only study things if they look nice😂😂

ASFAH SABRIE they probably had reading homework...they move quick
medical school moves so so so fast!!! we discuss patient cases less for the medical knowledge and more to help us develop the way to think through a case and reach a diagnosis. the patient case we discuss each week correlates with the material we're learning as well! so this current week, our case is on retinoic acid + how that affects fetal development and we're currently learning about embryogenesis!
