Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs iPhone 15 Pro Max: Camera Comparison

- We took a few pictures with the Galaxy S24 Ultra during our hands-on session, and some quick comparison shots with the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Here are our initial impressions. Of course, this is all pre-release - who knows, maybe Samsung will drop a day 1 patch, which will improve the camera further. However, this early test already shows us a camera that has clearly evolved over the S23 series, and the improvements are visible!

6:00 S23 Ultra is clearly better here with more details. You can clearly see the 'Enjoy 6 months...' text on the S23's 10x.

There is a big software update coming on jan23 for the s24
S24 Ultra's photos are basically S23 Ultra's photos with sharpening reduction in Camera Assistant 😅
I hope they can send out a camera fix for the S24 before I receive mine. I'm not really thrilled that most photo sample comparison vids I've seen the S24 photos have this haziness to them. the color saturation is very muted on them as well. I can live with the muted colors but that hazy/ foggy look to the photos is a deal breaker for me.
I was disappointed looking at the quality as well compared to iOS
I realise the S24 Ultra will undoubtedly have some tweaks applied in the coming weeks, but I really like the less aggressive sharpening in these samples. Images look much more natural and closer to the results that can be achieved with a half decent mirrorless.

Without disparaging this man's work, I recommend that you watch the video without audio and draw your own conclusions because in some situations what I was seeing had nothing to do with what I was hearing.
at 20x zoom the 23U was way better @6.38
Samsung is pushing a major camera update on 24th before the public launch. However, they should have done it before sending it to reviewers
Only a few trusted reviewers got phones from Samsung. There were phones available for use at CES2024 and the unpack.

S24 ultra doing amazing on these comparisons but they said don't even bother making comparisons because samsung will have an update for the s24 line up on release date. Can't wait to get my s24 ultra next week!

Why aren't there are photos of people in motion?
That's 90% of what people take pictures of, other people or pets.
It's easy to take a picture of a couch, not that easy of a moving toddler or French bulldog.
Why do YOU think they are avoiding this subject bro?. If Samsung had have fixed this problem it would have been all over the internet believe me. They are all avoiding the issue to avoid not getting any more release units. Period.
@@neilmcguinness4422 unfortunately that appears to be the case. S23U is extremely bad with any photos that involve motion compared to my cheap Pixel 6a, or any Pixel for that matter. iPhone is much better also

You should have taken a very complex picture like Trade Test Card with integrated symbols, shades and colour to see which one was cleanest.
To be honest, the differences are so small that there isn't much in it. I am a Samsung man but for now will stick to Note 20+ Ultra as it has colossal memory 512Gb and 512Gb SD card slot is my trump card. Shame Samsung removed the SD card. OK you can get the 1Tb model as a double memory upgrade but why spend £1,400. My old £500 phone does me proud!
I would really want to see comparison video with Xperia 1 V. I think Xperia is less aggressive with processing which is on plus.
This is what ive been saying. There should be measures in place to prevent youtubers from slating the camera while its still on pre release software, just because they want to defend the fucking iphone
10x and above, the S23 was clearly better than those 2 other phones! You could clearly read texts and see more details at higher zoom levels.
Before comparing these devices please buy a good quality of mic 🎙️ to record your videos , because voice quality is not up to the mark in your videos
10x night comparison when
I wonder how much of the Samsung's overly bright, low contrast and hazy photos comes down to pre-release software. I keep hearing that the final release software will improve camera quality, but by how much? Definitely considering a cancellation of my pre-order at this point.
I have left mine in the cart and await the update to see if it makes a big difference. I doubt it will, so it may be a case of waiting and seeing what the competition comes up with.
Samsung engineers found out its the best way to release the phone for reviews with garbage software so the world could se. Then offers a software update who blow peoples mind how good it is, but don't tell anyone it's a secret 🤫🤫

Samsung as always amazing hardware but over processed artificial photos that look like a mess. Looks like a painting but worse. Sharpness +100, clarity +100, shadows +100, saturation +50, that’s Samsung processing for you 😭 What a shame.
We can expect a fix on tomorrows update before the phone s rolled out to public..
They still looked better than the iPhone pictures, and that is with pre release software.

@@chrisb5000for me the IPhone looked better. Except the Zoom greater 5x. Definetly the pictures with the main camera from iphone looked better than S24. More detail and better HDR. The S24 looked washed out in some pictures.
He literally said the S24 pictures were as good if not better than the IPhone so if the Samsung photos are as bad as you make out then the Iphone must be as bad or worse . You sound very salty my Dude 😅

Samsung's getting a lot of blind fans just like Apple
It is what it is. Every brand will have its own fanboys. Be brand agnostic and buy what's best for you and always take everythjng with a grain of sand. Most cameras will be good enough for the majority of users who do not use it to make a living. Heck, aren't polaroid (and similar cameras) and flip phones making a comeback?

Mrwhosetheboss and a few other ytubers have been accused of doing fake cameras comparisons in the past. Accusations were that they were using stock photos, then photoshop them to get certain desired results.
You're going to see many bogus cameras comparisons
You should see the rig were the phones are mounted side by side. Also, it's winter in the northern hemisphere.
Many doing the camera comparisons don't even have the S24 yet.
Most of these fake cameras comparisons ytubers are based in the UK.

IT'S NOT GOOD.
This is a fantastic example of just why I buy Sonys. Foliage is always natural, sharpening is always balanced, colours are always true.
I just don't get why people like Samsung's cameras.
My guy they are both great phones but if you want to compare, the s24 ultra is a way better phone than the iphone. You are limitless with samsung/android and all these phones have amazing cameras it's all subjective when it comes to that.

But Samsung's cameras are gobsmackingly over rated. This is NOT a good camera result from them.
