    I love the fact how well German can explain his decision making on the court. And how well he can show the consequences of "wrong" positioning or decision making. Truly an exceptional level of expertise and coaching ability.

    great lesson ! The problem of leaving the centre open is you need to have the physical ability to get the low balls in the centre. Players who are not fit enough seem to have huge problems doing that

    Quick question! But first let me thank you for all of you videos and advice. I fixed my bajada with one of your video. The question: I actually play with Metalbone 3.1 2022. I think it is time to change it, but I don't like the new 2024 Metalbone handle, too short for me. Can you recommend a racquet to replace my old Metalbone? Thank you very much

    Great video Sven! So the takeaway for me here is to mainly play my defensive groundstrokes quite softly to the middle at ~chest height. Is that correct?
    When is a good time to play parallell?

    • @OtroNivelPadel
      @OtroNivelPadel  Месяц назад +2

      Yes exactly! You should play parallel when you want you partner to receive the ball

      By the way: This video is an absolute goldmine. Been looping it again and again. Watched the entirety at least 5 times now.
      So many good examples for both defensive and attacking play. One of the best videos you've put out there since I started following you (3+ years).
      Cheers!

    Sven if I play on the right side and I get a flat smash from the person in front of me. Do I always need to run Close to the fence? Because I notice I often get stuck with a backhand with little space. Or do I run more on the left side so I have a forehand to bals near the fence? I dont get this part of defending flat smashes

    • @OtroNivelPadel
      @OtroNivelPadel  Месяц назад

      You should run close to the fence; but than you should turn :)

      I found that the best way is to watch the other player's movement and try to foresee where their shot will go. Table tennis and squash experience helps a lot. Watch how the ball hits their racket, their shoulder and arm movement. At beginner and intermediate level, people are bad at masking shots so this will improve your defense a lot. At a high level and/or against creative players this becomes trickier and you might have to start taking guesses.

  • @AndreyRozhkovsky

    I don’t quite get this
    “Play in the center, so that opponent couldn’t play angle to the fence. He will have to play to the center which is easier for you”
    It sounds like it’s bad for opponent when I play there. But in the same time it’s good for me when opponent plays in the center.
    How can it be?

    • @alemansa
      @alemansa Месяц назад +2

      Opponents are at the net you are at the back, your shot to the center is less risky than trying to look for angles, also for the oponnent is easier to find angles to the mesh or the corners when you play to the sides.

    • @OtroNivelPadel
      @OtroNivelPadel  Месяц назад +1

      It easier to defend the middle than to defend the corner. If you play to the middle, they will volley to the middle
