Melvins are so heavy and grimy. Not everyone's cup of tea. Great review.

The Melvins will definitely grow on you! They have been growing on me for a long time. When I go to a new doctor they always notice the Melvins and ask me how long they have been there. I just scratch my head and tell them for as long as I can remember.

This was the first Melvins song I ever heard, it definitely grew on me and to be honest this is easily one of their most accessible songs. If you want another Melvins I’d recommend Queen or The Bit. Btw I’ve been loving your reactions I found your channel today and have been binging.

Two drummers on this album. And yes, they duplicate this live, with two drummers.

I like the guitar tones! Going old time Black Sabbath...even the vocalist is Ozzy-like. They like to play around with the music! Always changing something up in a small and natural way to give a sense of progression. They should cover Sabbath's, "Dirty Women"! I wonder if the drummer formed the band...Ending was definitely unsatisfying! But, I don't know how it could have been done better, as far as endings go...it was appropriate for the song. Song endings are weird...

Houdini is one of my all time favorite Melvins albums. Listen to Honey bucket, Night Goat, Hag Me. Also check them out live on Jam in the van. 💯🔥🤘

Dale uses something called a ribbon crasher a lot. He has also been using a set of Paiste trash hats for a similar effect but he always has at least one ribbon crasher being used. Ribbon crashers are basically stacks of "ribbons" of metal stacked ontop of each other and make a "white-noise/trashy sound. I fell in love with Dale Crovers drumming the first time I saw them live in 1993. But this song and several great albums they incorporated another band, a 2 piece band named Big Business into the Melvins. So this song has two drummer playing at the same time. His name is Coady Willis. He's incredible in his own right.

Check out Divorced from these guys, an absolute monster of a track. Plus you get a snippit of Danny and Maynard at the end.

I kinda liked that. Inexorable juggernaut drive beats appeal to me. Feels like if it were a truck it would run ver you - slow.

You're wearing a KISS shirt, Melvins opened for them on a tour after they covered Goin' Blind on Houdini, King Buzzo and Dale are MASSIVE KISS Fans ^_^
