Marlin close call at Tropic Star Lodge, Panama

Despite doing everything correctly: (Not backing the boat down on the fish too fast, mate not hanging on the wire too long) sometimes a billfish can end up in your boat angry, alive and kicking.
This is a dangerous situation- especially with a MARLIN. We are very proud of how our captain, mate and clients reacted to the surprise guest marlin who launched itself aboard the boat “Ms. Australia.” Thanks to the quick work of Tropic Star Mate, Weimar (getting between fish and guests) and Captain Candelo (quickly & calmly reacting to situation), nobody onboard was injured and the fish was wrestled over the gunnel and back into the water alive.
