I 2nd the idea
It’s a really neat idea. Similar to other forms of racing where you pay a penalty in track position for mechanical changes. I’m eager to see how this all plays out.
What an interesting twist! I love it. It's always so disappointing to see your car not perform as expected and watch it limp through the group racing. Kudos to you for offering that service!
I love these baja trucks! Hope the drivers can get all the kinks worked out of their trucks before the big race.
Oh boy, where to begin with the praise?
Terrific time trials format, I'm seeing a respectful nod to EP Videos who held TTs for an event with head to head racing _AND_ the "last chance" run. Splendid there, equally so here!! Given the unique challenge of Shavano Mountain, the last chance run is essential!
_Truly_ this event will pose opportunities to builders so rarely seen in the game, as one sole casting can enter, plus this casting is far from common compared to the whole of off road vehicles. Let's add to this the option of further adjustments by the host, unheard of, groundbreaking and frankly who else would I trust to do so besides an actual engineer 👍
Lastly let's give a big hand to James Ironbeard--how often do we see one racer's build inspire such an event?
Remember, qualifying tells but part of the story. From the grandstands I have to say the story is already compelling!! 💯😎🏁

@@hilanddoug I say James inspired this event in part because his previous entry in one season of "Are You _Truckin_ " was a Baja Bouncer *and* set at least one track time record 😎

You mentioned marbles going down the track. I'm a big O'Rangers fan at Jelle's Marble Runs, especially in their Marbula One series. Maybe this is a crossover that needs to happen! 🤔
Also, the crew and I at BAKE Racing are putting together a team of four rally cars for GTR, one for each of Alex Piz, Kira Piz, Eliza Piz, and Baba Piz (me). Dunno how but they's a-comin' for however you wanna use 'em.

Looking like an even type of event. Some great looking trucks. Sweet idea with using the score board on the maintenance truck. Nice touch! That darn touchy timing system. Adding one to our track now. Great video fellas! You make even qualifying fun to watch.
Well, my timing system is homemade, and I bet i positioned the light sensors at the finish a bit too low.

You guys chose a car that's challenging to set up! But as we've seen before, fast laps doesn't always translate to regular racing performance.

How does a stock main line perform on this track straight from the package? You mentioned suspension was needed for the track so I'm wondering how important it actually is for finishing a run to the bottom.
Doug, this Baja Bouncer only released as a premium, so a fully fresh from the blister specimen would not get far on those Real Rider wheels. Edited to add, the two spare tyres on the stock vehicle are made of alloy not plastic, and having this big chunk of metal so far aft was an early concern both in overall balance and how it raised the CG of an already high riding truck
"Suspension" here (and I'm out of my depth already, grain-of-salt time) could refer to natural flexibility the axles have within the interior channels or a custom built active suspension with bespoke internal apparatus. My guess is so the vehicles have a better chance on The Scrambler

Great question! I try to remind folks that this track was tested with stock Hotwheels while it was being built. After Season 3, in December 2022, I tested cars with different suspensions. You can find the Lessons Learned video in my playlist if you want. I would avoid gluing the axles to the chassis, and if you create a suspension, don't let if have more vertical play than a stock Hotwheel.

@@Chris_Hood I remember the Baja Bouncer on the pegs and seeing the Lamley review but I never picked it up. I think it was said to be one of the first 'non-licensed' premium castings. (Not including haulers)

Hi Ronald! Nearly all the diecast racing channels use redlinederby.com to announce new races. Builders sign up and start building. Unfortunately, the race I just started and the next one are full. I have a Gravity Throttle Racing Facebook page where I share information about my upcoming tournaments.
I highly recommend you join redlinederby.com to learn how to modify a Hotwheels for racing. Think of it like pinewood derby racing for adults.
These bouncers seem really slow compared to the wagons
I'm loving the time trials, but I feel sorry for some drivers. They come second in both heats, then get a slower time in their solo run. Feels a little unfair to get faster times in your two previous races but they don't count. Maybe next time, an average of the two different lanes might be considered, then if a car crashes out in one of the heats, they get the chance to re-run that lane. If they crash a second time, then the single timed run will count. So you have three tiers, the top cars with an average of both runs, then single run times and then any DNF for both lanes.
I hear ya. What I'd like to have is the ability to capture the finish times of both. That is available, but mine had to be custom-made because it's not a conventional track. Thanks for your ideas!

What’s the distribution of weight front to back? Mark had mentioned that an ideal would be 50/50…

What makes you say that this time around? Please explain.
@@gravitythrottleracingI explained this already in an older video of yours. Pole position refers to the physical position of the car that starts in a race. The cars are not "on the pole" only one car is in the pole positon and it's the one that has the best qualifying time.
It comes from horse racing, where the start/finish line was signified by a flag pole.
@PainFireFist Understood. I recall your comment and was glad to learn. Currently, Georgio holds the pole position. For example, the NASCAR lineup is the starting order (the pole) for whatever race they are competing in based on their qualifying results. Pole position only refers to the fastest driver.
