- Snow in Summer? We were not expecting this as we drove from the UK to Italy through 6 countries in 3 days on our Epic European Van Life Road Trip.
Join us as we travel through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and finally arrive in Italy, where we plan to spend the next few months.

WHO ARE WE?
We are Nigel and Sue (NaS) Adventures, a couple of outdoor adventurers. After living in a van travelling around Australia for 3.5 years on our big lap, we’ve moved to Europe to buy a new van and explore the highlights and hidden gems of this continent. Gas bottle prices have come down recently, around $$30 for 9kg
Wow we paid that for a 3.7kg in some places
I was born and raised in Switzerland and came to Australia when I was 20. Beautiful country, but I prefer life here in Oz. Enjoy Europe.

Came past maggiore by train, 2013, a great trip. Visited the Madonna d ghisallo on Lake Como, its a cycling museum , and well worth a visit.

Great vlog, really enjoying your travel videos. When was this please? Did you have any trouble at the German borders as I thought they were putting in checks for the next six months? Nige loves his spicy sauce’s doesn’t he 😂
This was middle of September. There was no border to speak of between Germany and Luxembourg, and on the other side with Switzerland, there were only swiss guards there but we didn't get stopped. I hadn't heard about checks, but seeing Germany is surrounded by Schengen countries maybe that's just at airports?
We did the Furka and Grimsel passes exactly two years ago (Sept 2022) on motorcycles and it snowed at the summit of the Grimsel. Passed through Andermatt on the way to Liechtenstein for the night.
We actually ran out of swear words - every turn and switchback revealed scenery we just don't have in Australia - looking almost straight down a kilometre or more... absolutely breath-taking and a camera just doesn't capture it.
Yes, breath-taking is the best word to describe it.

Hi Nigel and Sue it’s amazing the beauty you see in other countries I’ve been watching a guy from England riding across India on a 450cc Himalayan Royal Enfield in the whole group, of about 20 bikers I realise that India was fairly hilly, but I didn’t realise how beautiful it is. So far, far, far from Australia and SO spectacular. Seems eons since I was last in Switzerland. Gorgeous video. Your Swiss friends seem lovely. Wines in Switzerland are top notch, but little known, as they do not export! I am very partial to an Aperol Spritz, they look so good!
Yes we did drink one local wine with our friends in Switzerland, it was lovely. Everything is so beautiful over here. Can't wait to share the beautiful lake and mountain scenery with you all over the next few weeks.
Simply incredible scenery! Hitchhikers - not always a happy ending!!! Weather seems unseasonably cold but I'm in Oz where we are still waiting for the spring weather to shine through!!

Hi I would have like to of heard The Sound of Music song playing in the background when you were at the lookout. I’m having trouble the five countries in a day and just driving through a border crossing .
Could you please call into some old towns please. I love the old buildings like how can a building be a 1000 years old ? Amazing episode.

Those mountain passes always get me thinking about how beautiful life is. I'm lucky enough to go skiing many times every ski season, almost all conversation stops in the mountains and you can see my friends and family in awe of the mountains, I live in the flattest country on earth, but my heart lies in the mountains. Enjoy yourselves, thanks for another great video.

So mind blowing for Australian travelling across Europe! So many countries in such a small space. We are pretty used to vast spaces and not even having to leave our own state! :) I just love the beautiful scenery in Europe. Like your new hairdo Sue, looks really good.😍

Brilliant, love a mountain climb in the van! Went over the Picos in Spain and up the Sierra Nevada earlier this year🙂. If you get tired of the gas bottles consider fitting something like refillable bottles eg Gaslow system and fill up at petrol stations that sell lpg - system costs a bit to install but refills are cheap👍🏽.
Can you re-fill them anywhere in Europe though or is it just the UK? Its so confusing the whole gas thing!
@@nigelandsueadventures in Europe too not just uk, we had 2 x 11 kg bottles in our last van that had a fill point on the side of the van fitted. Then you just need all the different connectors for Europe, simples😀

You don't fit a gas refil kit in your van?
Not sure what you mean by a re-fill kit? We have a set of adapters for different countries, which we will need to use at some point here in Italy.
